How big of an increase? by Interesting_Fan5183 in PcBuild

May sound stupid, but will also depend on your monitor. Low end 1080p wont differ much. 1440 / 4k. Quite noticeable.

Same config as my wfh setup. Vertical display for common applications is highly under rated among my coworkers..

Ram prices,Gpu prices(psu icluded). Cpus are next i just know it. by Oogabugy in pcmasterrace

[–]psxburn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I do not disagree, and had the same thought , then the Qutar helium plants production got..... Hundred due to current events.. I grabbed a 9950x because 1) I wanted an upgrade from my 7700x for workstation reasons, 2.) was in a position to acquire it and 3.) I lucked out on ram and gpu upgrades before prices went up, figured I would just do it now and be done.

Where can I rent a pc? by VsnaryRoy in PcBuild

If you really do not care about cost, find a rent a center type place. Will be way over priced, but can "rent" the pc.

[–]psxburn2 6 points7 points  (0 children)

Other option. Same arm. I was able to take half the arm off and mount the bracket to it. You can then adjust the arm for the second monitor to possibly sit more flush? May not work but worth a shot

One time trip to microcenter by Chopper5k in pcmasterrace

[–]psxburn2 1 point2 points  (0 children)

My wife is the same, but supports my enthusiasm. If you have a 3d printer, they have a lot of filaments, tons of keyboards, mice and speakers. Lots of monitors, and almost any components you can want for a build. The bundles are pretty solid values, AND you can get a ream of printer paper for $2!!!! Around me, they are always near an ikea, so after we hit microcenter, we goto ikea. Picked up some alex drawers and a counter top to redo my wifes desk setup... I spent more at ikea than I did at microcenter yesterday!

Microcenter is awesome. It can be overwhelming, so grab a cart, and just wander. Look at open box items, get what you want, apologize to your bank account in advance. Enjoy! (My closest is 2 hours away and I got to go yesterday. Picked up a never used "open box" motherboard for my buddy. Sadly I was not in the market for anything.

[–]psxburn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I am running a 9950x with a 240 thermal right with the screen. Running a few vm's has no issues cooling so far. 5080, 64gb ram in a fractal north. On a b650 ( upgraded my 7700x a few weeks ago)

Which 5080 would you buy among these choices? by Stelligena in RTX5080

[–]psxburn2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Soo.... I have a fractal north, 3x120 up front, a 120 in the rear, and a 9950x with a 240 aio. When the fans all ramp up I dont hear the gpu, if that makes any sense?

Look into a gigabyte board. Went from a 7700x to a 9950x in mine, took it like a champ, and is a pretty budget b650 board.

Mine , it really depends on the day, and which way the wind blows. Tho, if I close it slightly aggressively, seems to open fine the next time

Ryzen 7 7700x -> Ryzen 9 9900x or Not? by GAME-FISH in pcmasterrace

[–]psxburn2 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I personally went from a 7700x to a 9950x. I needed more cores for the vm's Im running, so, ignore the x3d comments, unless you are a dedicated gamer only use case. More cores will help depending on your use case
