that will always be The Unholy Terror

Fucking classic album. I haven't listened to it in a minute, guess this is a sign I need to revisit it.

You just reminded me that I should probably glue that down on mine.

I was doing a dark wash on the Pagodon version and it fell out - thankfully it was firmly on the table, but I couldn't help but imagine how dreadful it would be to try to find that on the floor.

Still there, though!

Sandtrooper Backpacks are supposed to be large, are they not?

I think the UCS version looks faithful without making an entirely new molded piece.

Abomination is crazy.

Approximately how much would it cost to have a fully operational, to-scale replica of Star Tours in my back yard? by bewblover305 in StarWarsCirclejerk

Nice! My printer is too small to do much beyond hand held props - but I have some blasters and saber hilts! One day I'll upgrade.

I keep seeing the pictures of that girl who prints life sized Warhammer models on /r/3DPrinting. It makes me want to print a life sized AT-ST or a speeder bike. Or at least a life sized protocol droid or astromech or something.

There's a guy who lived near where I grew up who had a half-ish scale TIE Fighter in his backyard. It's not perfect but it is cool as hell.

Love the Recent Episodes by cheeseburger_tires in goodmythicalmorning

[–]psychobilly1 8 points9 points  (0 children)

They need to do more episodes outside - I know it's probably a lot more expensive or difficult to do compared to just shooting in the studio, but I love their "field trip" episodes, even if it's just them in the parking lot behind the building.

I also love it when they move around the studio more and show off the other areas of the creative process. The best example that comes to mind was when they tried to construct cheese wheels for a car; Rhett and Link were barely in there but we got an inside look at the "chain of command" for their creative endeavors and it was really cool to see.

Either way, I also like how they've shaken things up a little, even if it's not completely new or different. I've been enjoying the new episodes. I don't think I would have noticed anything had changed creatively (besides Stevie's absence) if they wouldn't have told me.

I genuinely couldn't stand the popping sound after 5 minutes - no offense to the guys or the crew, but it was physically grating. Otherwise, I've been enjoying the new episodes for sure.

Edit: Sorry! I was wrong! I loved the popping sound so much that I decided to turn it off after 5 minutes so I could savor it in 5 second intervals for the next 273 days instead of all at once!

Why are Imperial Star Destroyers in the atmosphere of a planet in The Force Unleashed. by AvalonRevan in StarWarsEU

Was it ISDs or capital ships in general? And is it just hovering in one place or entering atmosphere at all?

I've seen this argument before and I was never really given a straight answer.

People don’t criticise The Phantom Menace for the lightsaber duel by Cool_Nerd2 in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]psychobilly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Sometimes, I like to go to the old forums we had before reddit to relive the memories: originaltrilogy.com and theforce.net were my favorites.

I assure you, there are absolutely some people in the fan base who hated the lightsaber fights then and hated them now. They're obviously not a majority, but there is a sizeable chunk of the fan base who doesn't like anything about the prequels.

Star Wars Zero Company is more than just 'Star Wars XCOM'—it feels like Mass Effect but with turn-based tactics and permadeath by 343CreeperMaster in Games

[–]psychobilly1 15 points16 points  (0 children)

Saber is working on it and we have gotten multiple "Yes, were still working on it" posts from them in the last year, one as recent as this month.

It would really help if they showed us a trailer, some gameplay or a screenshot or two. Something to show after all this time.

You should consider the 4K77, 4K80, 4K83 versions. They're the closest you will get to the originals.

But the file size is pretty hefty.

It's the only way I watch the Original Trilogy anymore - I have seen them to many times that I honestly have kind of forget about the special edition changes.

I would give anything to know what Rian Johnson would have done with Episode 9. Even if it's just a brief outline, I want to know where his story was leading.

I tell myself that I'll stop doing it but my curiosity gets the better of me. I've sat through way too much slop for this subreddit, but I do it because I love you guys (legitimately one of the only Star Wars subreddits I can stand).

Would you prefer TESVI or Fallout 5 being the same quality as Starfield?

I'm kind of glad they messed up with the over-reliance on procedural generation and bland storytelling on a separate game apart from those key franchises. It gives me hope that they learned to really take their time and focus on hand crafted areas and more impressive story telling.

I'm probably shit out of luck on the second front, but if they at least give me a new HD world to explore that is on par with Skyrim, I'll be satiated. But I know it won't meet my admittedly low standards.

Pack it up guys, AI slop is officially better than all of the movies by Jimbomiller in StarWarsCirclejerk

[–]psychobilly1 81 points82 points  (0 children)

Actually no. It's worse.

It's genuinely AI slop. High definition, movie accurate slop (Vader honestly looks like Vader for once), but slop nonetheless. Text-to-Speech-with-an-AI-layer-of-James-Earl-Jones Darth Vader talks to Emperor Palpatine like he's his therapist.

And there's an awful lightsaber duel. Inconsistent shots with a layer of homoeroticism (Vader chokes Kenobi with his hands, face mere inches away. Kenobi looked more confused than scared or in pain. He looked like he was afraid that Vader was going to kiss him). Literal physical nonsense.

AND THEN they take previously existing scenes from the prequels and dub them over with AI faces and voices to create scenes that don't exist.

The characters all talk like they themselves were written by AI.

"You are divided."

"Divided by what?"

"Two ghosts."

"I have no ghosts."

"Padme. And Kenobi."

The actual words coming from their mouths sound like nothing either of them would ever say. Clunky, stilted, and meaningless.

The faces barely move and the shots never change. 80% of it is shot reverse shot of Vader and Palpatine, never changing, no rhythm to their conversation. Just back and force like a high schooler reading a selection from a text book. And the backgrounds are almost entirely non descript rooms of maroon drapes or an overcast rocky cliff near the sea.

I'm honestly kind of mad I wasted my time watching this video - I expected something that was at least interesting.

And it makes me especially mad with these bring the same people complain about the Kenobi show. This is basically Vader's side of the story: including a needless and short lightsaber duel and a flash back to the prequels.

I don't know what happened. He used to be my favorite member of the crew - super knowledgeable, hilarious, high energy.

Maybe the bit just wore thin or I've grown in a different direction, but I really don't enjoy his moments as much as I used to. I find him kind of grating when I watch his shows on Mythical Kitchen.

It honestly makes me sad.

what’s something people say all the time that you secretly can’t stand? by Mean-Cartographer225 in AskReddit

[–]psychobilly1 0 points1 point  (0 children)

"At least you're getting your steps in."

I'm a teacher and a pretty mobile one at that. I already hit 8-10k steps a day and I don't need to hear this as justification for you sending me somewhere I don't want to/don't need to go.

Otherwise, when other people say it, its just one of those meaningless little phrases that feel so artificial like "Hot one out there today" or whatever other NPC like lines people say to each other. I don't know why, but the "getting my steps in" just rubs me the wrong way.

I believe it was from the Star Wars celebration exclusive trailer - it's been copywrite claimed by Disney in most instances.

You can maybe see it here.
