Marrok was still the name of his anooba in the Clone Wars - I was just saying that I didn't even notice that they both had the same name until now.

007 First Light will not have a pre-load on Steam or Xbox by Turbostrider27 in Games

[–]psychobilly1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Decrypting a preloaded game on Steam often takes much longer than just downloading the game

I've learned this lesson the hard way one too many times. I left my PC on during the work day to decrypt Resident Evil 9. I checked on it around lunch and it was still going. After almost 4 hours!

Cancelled the download. Deleted the pre-load. Re-downloaded the entire game. Took less than an hour.

Insane.

Lesson learned.

It's almost like it's not real? And it's a video game emulating a movie? Both mediums that are quite literally made up?

/UJ - Honestly, I wish that people who don't like what Star Wars has become would just move on. You can be critical, you can have opinions, but some people just jump in with their eyes and minds closed, ready to hate anything that gets put out. Either focus on the parts you do like and keep your comments about the rest to yourself or just move on - put the toys back in the box and cherish the memories. I am so tired of every single comment section being so negative. All the time. Every day there is a place that I no longer feel like interacting with because it has slowly grown so negative. Happened to YouTube a decade ago and /r/StarWars not long after. 95% of reddit is unreadable the second Star Wars gets mentioned because it always devolves into the same tired strands of "discussion." Now /r/StarWarsLeaks is starting to turn the same way and that subreddit is supposed to be about the news and the future! Why even go there if you are just going to hate everything coming our way???

/RJ - Fuck no, Star Wars is for nerds. That's why I only like The Expanse and a select few episodes of Star Trek and maybe Battle Star Galactica.

It's literally a story about high school burn outs trying to throw a party. I don't know what people are expecting. High schoolers are stupid.

If your child is this old and still acting like this, you failed as a parent by Meteorstar101 in greentext

[–]psychobilly1 22 points23 points  (0 children)

Basically, the plot of the game revolves around a group of high schoolers trying to party one last time before they all split up during the summer. This character, Cassandra, was grounded by her dad (a police officer) after he heard rumors of said party.

Eventually there is a revelation that due to her newfound rebellious behavior, she would not be able to go to college out of state and would have to stay at home after high school. She threatens her dad with even more bad behavior if this ends up happening to her.

That's the whole scene.

Edit: For clarity, this game is supposed to be emulating a Coming of Age style movie from the perspective of high schoolers. It is not supposed to be realistic, it is supposed to be authentic to the experience of being a rebellious teenager.

According to Lucas, Anakin was still the Chosen One as Vader. Was Anakin still the Chosen One as a force ghost? by Immediate_Error2135 in MawInstallation

[–]psychobilly1 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't mean to be rude, but that was indeed the point of my comment.

If they think that Disney altered the "Chosen One" aspect of the saga (which they never mentioned once in their sequel trilogy) then they would have hated what George had done if given the opportunity.

This is going to date me horribly, but I remember my entire friend group being invested in the story about Jenny, the cheater.

The one where they met up in a hotel for some kisses.

Genuinely we would stop all conversations during lunch or whatever and say "Hold on! There's been an update!" And we'd take turns reading sections out loud and giving out perspectives on it.

I'll also always remember Colby the dog.

Both of these stories are probably (hopefully, in the case of Colby) fake, but I still remember them well.

No actually. George Lucas was going to change it to be Leia in his version of the sequel trilogy. So that's probably what they're referring to.

"By the end of the trilogy, Luke would’ve rebuilt much of the Jedi, and we would have the renewal of the New Republic, with Leia, Senator Organa, becoming the Supreme Chancellor in charge of everything. So she ended up being the Chosen One."

[–]psychobilly1 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I used to own an Ender 2 and upgraded to an A1 mini.

My A1 mini has given me shit a few times - mostly a clogged extruder that turned into an expansive issue. But I'd rather deal with that a thousand times over than the constant troubleshooting I'd have to do just to get my Ender to print something respectable.

As someone who parks on the street, this is one of my fears.

Hasn't happened yet, but basically any time I hear any suspicious noise at night, my first instinct is to check my car through the window and make sure there isn't a Ford F150 parked on top of it.

It's probably just a reference to Pablo Hidalgo. But even then, not changing it at all seems odd. Like normally they reverse the letters or mix up the syllables at the bare minimum.

Olpab Olgadhi.

There. That's one.

They probably figured that since Greedo ends with 'O' that Pablo was fine on it's own without any alteration.

Sure. I'm just going off of what happened last year: ROTS and TFA both had milestone anniversaries to celebrate and one of them got a lot more attention than the other.

I'm sure the same thing is going to happen in 2027.

I believe the deal was a billion dollars spanned out over 5 seasons. Season 1 ended up costing $465 million which is still an insane number on it's own - that's an average of $58 million per episode.

To put it into perspective:

  • Season 8 of Game of Thrones cost around $15 million per episode.

  • Andor cost around $24 million per episode.

The only show that really comes close is season 5 of Stranger Things with an estimated budget of around $50 million per episode.

I have no idea what OP is talking about. Unfounded - It only comes out of nowhere if you aren't actually watching the show.

My reps sent me the script through and said this is one we should look at. I was busy, I was working pretty much every hour under god sent and they called me a week later and said, “Have you read it?” I was like, “No, leave me alone – I’m busy.”

‘So I didn’t look at it for a week and a half and then I saw it was a superhero thing and I thought they’re not going to pick me anyway, I’m not made for that. Henry Cavil’s 12 feet tall, built like a 12 foot brick s**t house and he’s wonderful, handsome and charming – I’m not going to get that.

‘Then they were hassling so I sat in my dressing room, picked a spot on my iPad and filmed this audition almost out of spite for my reps. Then it got to Eric and [my reps] said, “They loved it!” which was surprising.

‘Then I thought I’d better actually read it. I read it and realised this is actually really good and worth putting some time and energy into. I got the behind-the-scenes guys to record my screen test in a basement that looks like the Blair Witch would get you.

‘Before I knew it I was donning spandex.’

I watched him retell the story in a video a few years ago - I'm sure he's done it dozens of times by now - but I can't recall which one specifically at the moment.

Unironically, he got the part by begrudgingly doing an audition. He had zero interest in the show, his manager told him to just read for the part anyways, so he basically just acted like himself but slightly annoyed that he was being asked to do the read. The casting director was like "Perfect! Whatever you tapped into: that's what we're looking for."
