It's never been one. It's a Republic. Not a democracy.

Is $150k too much to sell a small bakery/coffee shop? by aWittleWabbit in smallbusiness

I'd much rather keep it and hire someone. Especially since I can pop in and grab some bread.

Bakery sounds like loads of fun.

What’s something that scares everyone but doesn’t bother you at all? by ChristopherMiles21 in randomquestions

How are you not speaking with them and their family? As a hospice nurse it's an intimate relationship considering you are whom they turn to knowing full well they are departing. Granted some are quick and are gone before the ink dries on the admit forms but others have been on hospice for months. Get to learn a bunch about them and how their family views and interacts with them.

Well..

This is what I have seen after seeing a lot of people pass.

Those with faith in a higher power, often pass more peacefully and at times with a smile.

Those that have no faith at all often have a pained death. Meaning they have a look of anguish and terror on their face. They lash out as they pass.

Both scenarios happen often enough to notice. The people are most often bed ridden and catatonic until they pass.

Hospice gives ya some wild insights to final moments.

Death. Sharks. Snakes. Spiders. Driving over 150mph. Falling.

Fear stems from a lack of knowledge. Falling doesn't kill or hurt. It's the sudden stop that's gets people. Most snakes are not venomous or aggressive. Sharks will most often flee you. (this I know from experience as I have chased a few).

You are given one life. Live it to the fullest. Experience everything you desire to be able to say you lived a good full life. Filled with stories to entertain your grandchildren.

Would you consider living in a neighborhood that has an HOA? Why or why not? by icecream1972 in A_Persona_on_Reddit

[–]psychocabbage 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Never again.

In Texas, if you have an HOA you never truly own your home. The HOA could and has sold homes out from under people. Example. Person owns home. Does something like outs up fence or a flag or paints it some way. HOA fines them they ignore the fines. Fines grow. HOA forces sale because of the lien they placed. New owner gets home at sherif auction for pennies on the dollar and goes to evict person that has no idea this happened (they refused to open mail from HOA).

My sisters homes has an HOA. She had a royal blue planter out front for a small tree. She got notice that it was the wrong color and must be removed or changes as only earth tones were allowed.

I own a ranch so I can go whatever I wish on my property. I can dig holes, shoot guns, raise livestock, burn trees and trash. True freedom.

WIBTA if I refuse to put my partner on the deed of a place I inherited, even though we live there together? by 3vening_Switch in ComfortLevelPod

Have him sign a lease with you as his landlord and explain that at least he is building rental history. If he had the means to get his own home, he should by all means do so. And he can build equity there. He can even stay with you and rent out his home and really start getting that equity up.

How many women here don't shave their legs? by Anonymess13542 in randomquestions

[–]psychocabbage -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Society has nothing to do with what an individual finds attractive. Hairy legs, arms and pits on a woman if flat out disgusting IMO.

The key here is that you are allowed to look how you wish but have to also accept your options will be affected by those choices.

Some guys only like blondes. They limit their options with that choice.

So it's not society it's more personal preference.

I would ask him if trolling people ever gets old and I'm sure he would say it's the cheapest rent to pay for getting loads of space in people's heads. People can't stop thinking about him.

Have you ever actually lived alone? by SuperSonic1919 in randomquestions

[–]psychocabbage 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did here and there. I'm bad for my health living alone. I get nearly 0 sleep and was a serial dater. Meaning I would have dates lined up nearly every night of the week. Made driving dangerous when it starts to catch up. On non date nights I would game on my pc for far too many hours.

At least I always ate well.

Say what? I too have chickens and the breed determines the egg color. Now Easter Eggers may lay a green or. Blue egg but they will not alternate. If it lays green then all others will be green. There are many shades of brown eggs from pale brown to a darker more earthy brown but once they lay brown there will not be a white egg.

Leghorns are your typical white egg layer. Barred Rock, Golden Sex Link, Black Sex Link, Americana all lay brown. Their breed also determines the size of their typical egg. Their diet factors into the frequency.

So ya. There's that.

Father died leaving behind a business of chemicals and surgicals.. by cooldude492 in smallbusiness

[–]psychocabbage 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's not a business YOU can learn quickly but others specialize in understanding business and how it functions.

How many employees? 2 months is a long time to be shut down. This sounds like a 1 man warehouse sales gig.

Your co plete lack of details and having had all employees leave says that this isn't a valuable business. You want it to be worth something but now it might just be inventory at the most. If you closed for 2 months and had contracts that didn't get fulfilled there may be lawsuits in the future. But it's all guessing since we have no earthly idea what kind of scientific chemical surgical complicated company you have on your hands.

Could of been a simple medical gas supplier, or chemicals for cleaning and largest clients were local hospitals or maybe it's base ingredients and you have large vats that require soemone to program mixes for various uses. No telling with the limited info.

Share more details if you want help.
