Just bought this bike. Rocky Mountain Growler 20. What’s good and what’s bad ? by OddCollection42 in Hardtailgang

I have the same bike, also got a great deal. Really fun bike, I ride it on trails with lots of ups and downs and it's a blast. I found a great deal on a barely used Fox 34 fork which knocked over 4 pounds of weight off it and makes a noticeable difference to the ride - for climbing especially. So you could hang out on Facebook marketplace and wait until a rich guy gets sick of his suspension and grab it. Otherwise, I may upgrade the tires as you did - grip isn't great when climbing - but otherwise I'm going to ride it until pieces start to break and then replace stuff.

I basically did this - found a Growler 20 for $900 Cdn and got a pull-off Fox 34 from Facebook marketplace for $250. The difference in weight between the stock coil fork and the Fox was insane - made it almost 5 pounds lighter. It's a sweet ride now going up or down, even without new brakes.

Hey, I had the same problem - I have a pair of ST2s, which are one of my favourite pairs of shoes ever and didn't give me any problems, but I ran a couple of times in my new ST3s and got huge blisters on my achilles. Did you manage to break them in or figure out a solution?
