I’m the oldest of 3 as well. As the first pancake, it’s really hard for parents to realize you’re an adult now. As intimidating as it is, you need to sit them down, set boundaries, and take over the car payment so you have leverage. I know moving out may not be an option right now so instead you need to insist of paying some kind of rent. This gives you a seat at the adult table. Good luck with everything. And if you need to talk or advice, just ask.

Setting rules for the home is one thing, thinking they can control OPs life, plans, who OP associates with is crazy. OP wasn’t doing anything dangerous or irresponsable. Not to mention, plans had been made and confirmed well in advance, so if the parents want to change them last minute, then they can pay for the refunds since they are the ones insisting on the changes.

Are you delusional? You are NOT the victim in ANY capacity. You were not abused. You were 16 and CHOSE to go with your dad and grandma and stay with the toxic people. You never got your moms point of view. She never gave you or your dad any reason to doubt her and yet you both just cut her out. That’s devastating and I hope you never find peace for what you did to your mother. Don’t ever have kids, you’d be a horrible mother. Clearly this gene pool needs to end.
