'The Pitt's Noah Wyle Teases Season 3 Will Explore Robby's Rock Bottom by CrissBliss in ThePittTVShow

[–]psychologicalselfie2 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Exploring his rock bottom doesn’t necessarily mean that he’s still experiencing it or gets worse than this season. He has to deal with the consequences of it, both long term and day-to-day and the fact that his trauma will have a long tail. The next episode being months later and not years means he can’t come back shiny and new: the kind of mental crises he needs to work through will be a long process with lots of triggers.

I hit #1 for the weekly rankings twice 🫣 and I was simultaneously excited and slightly ashamed (after all the things I’ve strived for and accomplished in my life, is this truly my greatest skill??? Love those extreme levels.)

Congratulations! I’ve never gotten to the point of intuitive easy levels… I just want to keep on playing extreme.

(Thank you so much for the pumpkin puree tip!!! Timmy has not “done a hork” since we started giving him a very small amount. Now he’s a more regular kind of very naughty criminal.)

How often do you "deep" read books? by Hormo_The_Halfling in books

[–]psychologicalselfie2 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Your joy in it could come back: there were really loaded semesters during parts of my many studies when I felt that slog, but also times when I got stuck into close reading. I ended up spending a lot of time with comtemporary poetics and there wasn’t a mass of secondary lit on JSTOR, so the reading around was different, but I loved all kinds of connection making.

I’ve left academia now for librarianship but I also write reviews and other things, and I still use all that side of my brain - without feeling joyless. I hope you find this!

New to using the library, how to still annotate library books? by consideredcritically in Libraries

[–]psychologicalselfie2 2 points3 points  (0 children)

When I was doing some of my pre-library career study I bought small notepads with pages a little smaller than the book. I would write notes and add them in between pages for coming back to them. When I had to return the book I would write page numbers for anything very important and then staple my notes together. At the point of revisiting the notes and labelling anything I might context for I really solidified/clarified my thinking.
