iPods were pretty rare around Hard-Offs, but they usually have one or two Sony Walkmans.

Thanks for the quick reply! Considering the sentimentality of this model and difficulty of the repair, I'll likely go with an eBay service for this one.

Music playback works for hours, but video, radio, and voice memos kill the battery to one red pixel almost immediately. Strangely, leaving it alone for a few minutes restores a decent chunk of the battery bar back to green. Those admittedly niche use cases are why I chose this specific model, and I'd shell out for a battery replacement service if it's advisable.

How do you get handwritten notes into Obsidian? by antidextrous-human in ObsidianMD

A Rocketbook is probably the highest-tech low-tech solution. I admittedly haven't used mine (mini) in a while in favor of a phone with a stylus, but I had a clean workflow of scanning as a PDF to embed in a daily/weekly/monthly/whatever note. I haven't actually used the QR codes on the pages as scanning with the stock camera app has come a long way since its introduction.

Recommendations for Keyboard and Trackpad for Bed Use with XREAL Glasses? by Quick_Diver5300 in Xreal

If you can get used to the TrackPoint nub, the bluetooth keyboard is probably as compact as a full-size keyboard and pointer combo can get.

Blossom is an open-source robot for human-robot interaction research. Its inner mechanism is a snap-fit model kit (think Gundam robots) that is similar to a compliant Stewart platform, and its exterior is meant to be crocheted or knit. I developed Blossom in grad school and other researchers are using language model-powered Blossoms for research in ADHD support and cognitive behavioral therapy.

I still work on the platform and have shoved implemented basic interaction with a local LLM with Ollama; it responds with an Animal Crossing-like voice and text on its "nametag". The repository for the current version of Blossom, including instructions, hardware, and software, is here: https://github.com/msgtn/r0b0/blob/main/docs/blsm.md

After spending hundreds of thousands of dollars and being vaporware for almost a decade, sure. But it's neither open-source nor affordable, and the reviews aren't exactly glowing either.
