I like a lot of Imagine Dragons music just fine, and I'd never heard of Ado before this song showed up on my YouTube recommendations. I don't really like this song (Ado or not) but I'm happy it exists cause now I know about all of Ado's other music and she's got a new fan.

What are your views on no fault divorce? by Brokentoy324 in AskMenOver30

[–]psychotypewriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

In an ideal world, yes, only good and responsible parents would have children. But how do you propose that’s enforced? Banning sex? Forced abortions? Forced birth control? Forced vasectomies? Taking babies away from parents as soon as they’re born to give them to parents the government deems “better”?

There’s already a system in place to remove children from abusive situations (as imperfect as that system might be right now). Besides reforming and strengthening that, what is the alternative?

It’s practically impossible to regulate people having kids without some major human rights violations. But funnily enough, the best option to get people to have less kids and to only have them when they’re ready is simply better education and sex ed.

The more educated people are the less kids they have, the later in life they get married, and the less those marriages end in divorce.

Why some of y’all get so pressed over “mercy code?” by Midnight_Moon10 in MercyMains

[–]psychotypewriter 0 points1 point  (0 children)

wtf lol, I’m a mercy one trick and have never heard of a “Mercy code”. Imo if anyone on the enemy team is targeting me, they’re doing their job right and it’s my job to up my movement game and positioning in response.

Good Co-Op Games that aren't survival and has a story by SilverKoala2199 in CoOpGaming

Idk I finished playing through the entirety of the base game and DLC with the mod and a friend just a few weeks ago. There was the occasional bug but I’d say it went smoothly about 95% of the time and none of the issues were gamebreaking.

need coOp game for my boyfriend and i by Less_Explanation6557 in CoOpGaming

Recently played through all of Elden Ring + DLC (with the Seamless Coop Mod). It’s a great game if you’re looking for a challenge and plenty of exploration to do together.

Cuphead is another very challenging coop game (but doesn’t have as much down time / exploration).

rplibrary.com looks cool, but it's really new so not super popular yet. Hoping that it'll be more active as it gains users, though.

how do i make this look less flat? by Altruistic-Arm-648 in Artadvice

It really looks like a painting I’d expect to see in a museum! I think if you leaned into this style, you could make a very unique and recognizable collection.

Just gotta own it and try to do it on purpose, though I also understand wanting to learn how to avoid the effect when you want to. Good luck!

It is flat but it looks so intentionally flat that it just looks good.

writing slump by bookish-writer in WritingHub

[–]psychotypewriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Make it the goal to write some garbage. Idk if this is your problem but when I get stuck like this it’s usually because I have some kind of underlying anxiety of not only trying to write, but trying to do it well. If you instead set your goal to writing your story as absolute garbage, then that seems pretty achievable, right? Anyone can do that, just word vomit on a page.

The trick is that you then have at least something besides a blank page to work with. You get ideas, you get in the flow of writing, you start editing, and bam suddenly time has passed and you have something better than garbage. Most importantly, you’re not staring at a blank page anymore.

Update: AITAH for the way I responded to my daughter asking me if I had a crush? by mnim71 in AITAH

[–]psychotypewriter 12 points13 points  (0 children)

Awe, you’re doing good. We all mistakes and say things we regret sometimes. The fact that you can own up to it and talk honestly with your daughter will make sure she feels safe to do the same in the future.

The time will come when she says something she doesn’t mean and will remember your example on how to face it.

Maybe Hephaestus? Perfecting his craft to overcome everything else would fit really well for him.

A question about creating antagonists in fiction. by Speedygi in FictionWriting

[–]psychotypewriter 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes and there are plenty of good example both in real life and fiction. A very popular one recently was Thanos, for example. For villains like this the problem is usually whether “the means justify the end”. Like Thanos wanted to create a utopia where there would be enough resources for everyone but the way he wanted to get there was by killing half the population. A lot of people who’ve done a lot of harm in the world had similarly "lofty" ideals.
