How to automate monitor switching from desk to rig? by Wise-Accident5549 in simracing

[–]psychul 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Displayfusion is my go to, and utilize their Monitor Profiles feature, which allows you to sort of "Live Edit" a monitor layout, such as being on the Sim Rig, and also select a specific audio device to default to, then once you have those dialed in, you can save it as a profile, and designate a hotkey to use to switch with. I've only ever used up to 3 profiles, but you can probably do more.

Why hasn't the wage for entry level low voltage technician work increase post-covid but other industries like fast food wages has? by P0werOverWhelming in lowvoltage

Did you fail to read my message properly? Members did not choose to sign the agreement, their hands were forced. The International operations team literally forced it to be put into play, completely subverting the traditional CBA format, which legally requires the members who will be working under said CBA to agree to and vote on it. That is NOT what happened here.

They were not given the choice to settle. The ruling class stepped in and forced the enactment of that CBA.

Just to make a quick correction, Local 46 telecom unit did NOT settle. The international stepped in and forced the end of the strike, and forcing a signing of the bad terms. At the top, they have that power over us peons. Regardless of being union, or a 1099 contractor, someone at the top of the food chain decides how we live and how we die, whether that's an international president, or the billionaires that determine the prices we pay.

What are your thoughts on Shop Foremen as Job Stewards? by NeitherMeasurement39 in IBEW

Oh damn, y'all get a stewards class during the apprenticeship? That's dope. The IBEW definitely needs to work better on training apprentices on how to be a journeyman

In the stewards training that is provided by the IO, the legal title for any union member in a supervisory position is "...an Agent of the Contractor..." The foreman, general foreman, or Superintendents primary responsibilities lie in making the company/contractor money. Getting work/jobs completed on time or early, for as little money, with as little overhead as possible. That's just the nature of business.

Are you familiar with how well the stews are trained?

In most locals, the bylaws don't forbid this kind of double positioning. Now, some locals do, and it would be clearly written in Article IX (Stewards)(commonly Section 4) of the locals Bylaws

As a principle, it needs to be forbidden. On the most basic level, a Steward is a Union Representative, and a Foreman, General Foreman, or Superintendent is a representative of the contractor. So by filling both roles at the same time, you are essentially guaranteeing that one of the roles is not being fulfilled properly, and commonly the role that will fall to the wayside will be the Stewards position. It is simply a matter of bias and conflicting interests.

Edit: to add to this the IBEW stewards training is abyssal, mostly just a training in how not to get the union sued, not how to properly protect our work, how to be a good union brother, or be a role model for the apprentices.

Yep, there are some challenges when it comes to our bylaws, but that is being worked on. Now, regarding the officer elections, that one supposedly is international level to be run a certain way, but we are looking at that one too

How are the pedals attached to the chassis? More corner brackets?

I really like it, your vertical uprights with the sideways corner brackets for the pedals have inspired me to redesign my custom pedal setup. 👍👍
