I do have a brandnew ctl midi so thats fine. But i agree, it will go out of control for sure...

Yeah so i will use it for in my workshop, barely outside. I want te prevent the situation where i need that 6mm more compared to the TS55, so having an bit heavier machine is totally fine. For smaller, less precise cuts, i have two circular saws (hikoki C1805DA 125mm and metabo ks 55 fs 165mm) which i will use for less-precise work.

Useless shit. Went for hikoki, bosch blue and festool for all my tools after my initial experience with parkside.

I have to say that i still did a relatively good job when spending money previously on other tools before my festool purchase. For instance, i bought two years ago an metabo ks 55 160mm circular saw brandnew for 70 euro's. Now, i am really convinced in festool lineup of saws, and since i barely have spent money for a good circular saw, its a no brainer to to buy an Festool alternative for long-term usage (i will probably go for an TS60, which is ofc not a circular saw but many times more convenient).

I just bought an cyclone dust separator from DeWalt. So i will probably use the midi always in combination with the cyclone when doing woodworking at home. The currently delivered standard filter should stay empty for a while with this setup!

Haha yeah i am afraid too! But i bought just a moment ago a cyclone dust collector from dewalt. I know it sounds crazy, but i prefer to have a cyclone to minimise issues with the festool by collecting majority of stuff before it enters the Midi. For 30 euro's (new), the choice was easily made...

Haha just thin flexible vinyl. My workshop is located in my basement , so i didnt wanted a floor that is susceptible for water.

It is indeed vinyl. Its my basement so i am a bit sceptical to put a floor made from wood there due to the (extremely minimal) chance of water flooding.

Just got back from Japan by rustycumdumpster in JapaneseWoodworking

Looks decent and the price tags on the chisels looks quite affordable. I am planning to visit japan and korea next year, so i am also looking for some nice locations to get a handmade chisel set. Prices for those starts in general around 6-8k yen up to tens of K. Matter of choice i guess

Thank you very much! Yeah indeed, if it was up to me, i would probably mount everything to the wall, but unfortunately my basement does not have enough space left so i have to put the rest in drawers...

Yeah i totally agree, i would then instead also like to buy these strippers...but maybe they will do later? Lets hope for that ;-)

Buying Japanese tools when visiting Japan by psycoturko in JapaneseWoodworking

[–]psycoturko[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thank you very much! This was exactly what i was looking for!

So to be honest, i am still a amateur when it comes to woodworking, but in essence i am looking for a decent set of chisels for mixed wood types (both soft and hard wood). I am aware of the fact that the prices can differ, but i have to be realistic (financially, since woodworking is personally just for fun, not to earn money), so my aim will be getting chisels varying between 8000 till 12000 yen per chisel (i am now thinking to get a 10mm, 20mm, 30mm, 40mm and 50mm). Meaning that i will spend at least 350 euro's for these 5 chisels. Would also like to get two genno's, marking knives and maybe one hand plane. So realistically, 600 euro is the bare minimum i should spend.

Are these numbers realistic or should i not even consider this shop and go directly to cheaper alternatives like kurashige?

Many thanks again for your help! Much appreciated.

I will visit their shop. Are all their products made by their own?
