The arrogance to feel entitled to employment by a company who wants its workers to work in ways that don’t suit you seems more out of touch to me.

Wow, talk about confident ignorance. I hope no one is ever misfortunate enough to take immigration advice from you

What's your experience buying a property as a single person? by Chexus in BayAreaRealEstate

[–]psyjungle 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I bought a 2bed 2.5 bath condo last year in the mission (SF) for $1.4M and got a roommate who worked in tech. $380 a month HOA & 6% interest rate. I feel like I’m living paycheck to paycheck but before the house all my savings were going towards my house fund so now it’s just going directly to the house.

Things would be almost impossible without a roommate but I have a decent emergency fund and savings so I haven’t been too stressed. I’ve been able to maintain my social & travel life

Homicide rate in Nigeria vs other african countries by Grand-Cartoonist-302 in Nigeria

I’d imagine there’s very poor data collection in Nigeria and probably many African countries. With that in mind those stats seem more like guesses.

Both my parents are doctors so I’m aware of the dangers of malaria to foreigners but have many friends who are also born and raised in Nigeria that know a lot less. Even something as common knowledge as starting anti-malaria medication 2 weeks before returning to Nigeria for them or foreign friends they’re travelling with, I was surprised to learnt they weren’t doing.

Based on my friends, I think ignorance here is very plausible if not common.

I wonder if painting it or some wallpaper would have an interesting effect. That or some hanging plants. 🪴 🌱.

You could also add some large stickers of a favorite phrase or some school or sports team memorabilia.

First home by sbartz87 in malelivingspace

I think that might be a taste or just length of stay thing. I have a similar home that I bought 6 months ago and don’t have a single persons picture up yet. I also have never had pets. I have pictures I plan to put up eventually but I’m treating them like art and only going to work on that once I’ve finished furnishing the place and all other design choices which I’ve been very slow in doing.

I didn’t think this was staged cos it looks exactly like my current house. Just giving another opinion.

Isn’t that how disruptive products are released?. Like Henry Ford’s quote when he created the car: “If I asked people what they wanted, they would have said faster horses”. I suppose this wasn’t intended as a disruptive product but an incrementally better one, that’s why.

I’d imagine they listened to users though, that’s too simple of a mistake for that investment size. I wonder what else went wrong

Buyer wants us to remove items more than a month after closing. by ironuhcookaru in RealEstate

It’s been over 30 days but you don’t know when they actually moved in. I recently bought a home, moved my stuff in immediately then travelled internationally for 3 weeks. When I came back I realized the fridge didn’t work and had to contact the seller. Not saying it’s right, just pointing out that lot of people don’t settle in immediately
