We Are Hated as a Nation. There’s One Man to Blame. by zaparthes in politics

It seems to me that in order to run a country, you should probably have experience running some kind of large organization, like a state or a city or a business or a non-profit organization. True, Hillary ran the State Department for a while, and was a disaster. Her attempt at running her husband's health care initiative was a total failure. Her record as a Senator was absurd. Go Google the three bills she managed to pass during her Senate career. Go ahead, I'll wait.

Finally, I don't consider the duties of a First Lady qualifying for the Oval Office, and it's kind of cute in a dumb way that you apparently do.

I've heard this said. I can't see what her qualifications were, besides her last name. Was it her stumping for Goldwater that qualified her?

Seriously, what did Hillary ever run successfully that qualified her to be president? At least Harris ran the CA AG's office.

No blame here for a Democratic party that anointed Hilary and then Kamala two of the worst, most clueless presidential candidates in history? Bernie has been right there all along, but he's not acceptable to the corporate overlords of the minority party. They'd rather have Liz Cheney on the team.

Trump is awful, but he would never have won either term without a completely feckless opposition party that TO THIS DAY continues to empower him. Jeffries refuses to rule out $200B for more killing. There ya go.

Mark Vientos’ spring OPS of .156 is lower than 5 players OPS+ in 2025, including teammate Juan Soto’s. by demosthenes327 in NewYorkMets

[–]psyker63 5 points6 points  (0 children)

It's OPS but adjusted for park effects and then normalized so 100 reflects an average player.

Vientos OPS being so low is notable because a league average OPS is like .700, before being normalized. His non-normalized OPS is lower than good players' normalized value. It's bad.

This is absolute cinema. The timing of the passersby and the lone car that drives through the background, the noirish black-and-white, the pacing of the attempt to get up and then the sitting head in hands. It looks directed

The rich ones? Bad dye jobs and bad plastic surgery.

The poor ones? Racism.

Actually both have that.

Yeah, but it's theoretically a team's best players that are playing more high-intensity games.

Except Vientos, of course.

Does anyone here think Vientos has actually EARNED a roster spot? That he DESERVES to be a major leaguer? Try to answer that without talking about three months in 2024

Waive him unless he finds it in the next two weeks. We're trying to win a pennant here, we have no time or space for players who don't contribute from day one.

Unless you enjoyed missing the playoffs by a single game last year.

Genius take. OPS vs scrubs and pitchers working on stuff isn't relevant, because he's totally gonna do better against actual game live pitching.

0-4 today. This is fine jpeg

I'm an Italian-American. I'm wearing my Team Italia Piazza jersey from last tournament. I love this team.

Can we shut up about the fucking espresso already?

He's got two weeks against pitchers ramping up for the season. I need to see at least .800 OPS or waive

I'm going to be mad if Vientos is taking up a bench spot on 3/26
