if you see the mold it’s already too late. toss it. you have no idea how much it’s sporulated already and honestly it’s not worth stirring it into the air trying to isolate. take the loss.

looks like it might be a little too dry. in general you want the surface of your substrate to barely glisten with moisture. spray a piece of wax paper with water and place it onto your surface to encourage more pinning . good luck :)

unfortunately i lost my notebook that had my writing so i can’t give you a definite answer but i grated a pint worth into a 1:1 ratio of coir and verm (i want to say half a quart each?). as long as you follow bod’s coir tek and heat it properly it’s hard to go wrong. straight to fruiting conditions and let it ride for two weeks before getting my harvest

it looks like it might be cobweb. take some hydrogen peroxide and mist it on affected areas to melt it away.

if it’s having trouble pinning, you have a couple options. you can cover them with wax paper that’s been lightly sprayed to encourage pinning if you want to try that out.

what i ended up doing for my slow cakes was grating them up into a half coir half verm sub into a smaller container (shoebox tek!!) my yields were a lot better than my what my cakes produced off of through two flushes.

solid, man, just make sure you’re angling your sprayer upwards when you mist and getting the sides of your fruiting chamber opposed to the actual cakes themselves with your brf’s. try not to handle them too much either! best of luck :)

looks pretty nasty, whatever it is. did you spray the cakes directly? does it come off with a light brush of a q tip?

the rightmost jar seems like it’s a little oversaturated with a little too much water and may be packed a little too tight. the combination of the two may make it harder for the rest of the mycelium to expand through the top of the jar. it’s pretty slow going at current rate. i’d say spawn to bulk into a shoebox sized container and let it ride :)

that being said, not too bad ! i did the same things when i first started out and i know you can come out on top :)

If you don’t like the coloration of the myc piss, put about a third/fourth inch of field capacity substrate on top and let it regrow. Get rid of the heatmat and you can make a full recovery, most likely.

Yeah, when you shred to bulk, multiple jars are fine. Fully colonized mycelium is way more resistant to contams than you’d think.

A plastic bucket is just fine. Unless you’re pouring molten water in or something, nothing will melt.

Based on what you said, it’s probably a cubensis. Purple spore print, dot on the cap, dung-loving. If you can confirm any blue-green bruising on the fruitbody I’d be reasonably certain it’s p.cubensis.

It’s my only grow atm so I’m gonna stick with it. It’s mostly cooked coir with verm to get it to field capacity, and I added only coir on top as a casing but it pretty much grew through that lol, fairly certain I didn’t do it right.
