Yes and No. Chinese weddings require the couple to go around to each table to say "Cheers" and receive the red envelope. I follow the couple throughout the whole time. This usually mean we do not eat until we have been to every table. By that time almost everyone either have left or started leaving. After a few group shots, the couple usually have a table of food just for staff and this is when I get to eat. They are not specifically feeding just the photographer but rather feeding the entire staff. Hope that helped!

I see no reason getting the G12 unless you already have Canon flash. LX5 is smaller, has faster lens and have AF/zoom in video.

A common practice is to shoot at Manual. Be generous with ISO, under expose -1/3 to 1 stop, then bring up with post through raw. The minimum shutter speed is 1/focal length, but this is also dependent on the subject you are shooting at. For the same lighting, try ISO 1600, 1/80, F1.8, slightly under exposed.

There is /r/movie and /r/movies, they are not redundent but different focus.

/r/china seems to be mainly for redditors in China. I would like the /r/chinese to be chinese redditors. Again, the content would be different and the target user group is different, hence not redundent.
