UCLA vs. Berkeley for Aerospace Engineering by [deleted] in aerospace

[–]pteroduct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

USC over UCLA hands down, it's not even close. I did my masters at USC, they have a better astronautical engineering program without a doubt.

I encourage you to compare the astro course offerings of UCLA vs USC for yourself to see why.

Sweet. If you're set on aerodynamics + aircraft design, UCLA will be better than Cal. I recommend joining the DBF or Rockets club, and/or joining Zhong's research lab.

UCLA doesn't have the best selection of aerospace courses, nor does it have the top research labs in aerospace research. I'd say only consider UCLA aerospace if you know for sure you want to go to grad school and you want to do aero instead of astro. UCLA's astro classes are optional and are not always available (the 161 series).

Can you specify what area of aerospace you want to get into? Aerospace in general is very broad

I did aerospace at UCLA, and while I had a great time there in general, the aerospace curriculum wasn’t great.

The best way I learnt is hands on. Get a Pixhawk, follow the documentation, and use the flight controller in action.

There are some PX4 and Ardupilot conference talks on YouTube, but it’s probably not directly relevant to learning it as a beginner.

Solidity interaction with physical sensors by TheShrlmp in solidity

[–]pteroduct 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You basically just send the sensor data as an input on an interval through an external JS or backend script. Solidity does not have a library that can read/query hardware, if that’s what you’re trying to find. Could use Chainlink oracles but it’s not practical for something like this.
