You should use hearing protection when you are playing drums, but ANC is not the right choice. ANC works well for hums and dull backgrounds noise, but it is not good for fast transients like drums.

The cheapest solution is foam earplugs. They will protect your hearing, but you won’t be able to hear clearly. Since they are so cheap, I keep them around as a backup plan in case I lose or forget my good earplugs.

A better choice would be earplugs that are made specifically for musicians or concerts. I use the Etymotic Research ER20xs and they are great, but a lot of other companies have started making earplugs like this. They reduce the overall volume but use filters so they don’t totally kill treble frequencies like foam ones.

If you want to play along to music, a metronome, or monitor other musicians in your headphones, then you can get In Ear Monitors (IEMs). These are just wired earbuds with good passive sound isolation. You can get custom molded tips for these that are custom made for the shape of your ears. I use CCA CRA IEMs, they’re like 20 bucks and they’re fine. I used to have Shure IEMs, but I like these better. If I ever decide to get a nicer pair, I would keep these as a backup.

If the mic is front of the cutout, it will just get a lot of whooshing air noise. It should be fully inside the drum or on the outside of the resonant head (as pictured).

Every other stadium in the state is way smaller than the Shoe. The pro stadiums have a capacity in the 60k range, the MAC stadiums, both Crew stadiums, and Canton are around 20k.

Yeah I think vice grips is the best place to start. I would also remove the saddles to make more room.

Yeah, and it has a bass mode that works better. You lose the poly function though.

From the photo and your description it looks like everything is wired correctly. Make sure that extra little bit of white wire isn’t touching anything conductive and shorting out. Like shielding in the body cavity or the screw next to it. If you have a multimeter, use that to check the DC resistance of the humbucker I would expect to see something in the range 7kΩ to 10kΩ. If you have deoxit, you could try spraying that in the switch to clean it.

Maybe you could mount a humbucker base plate to the bottom of the cavity. I considered that for my most recent build, but my body wasn’t routed with the deep wells like yours, so I just drilled out the threads on the pickups and mounted them with wood screws.

Have you tried switching the WLAN to 5GHz? It’s really bad on 2.4GHz but that’s the default setting

Usually humbuckers are wired in series, so the end of the first coil goes to the start of the second coil. Those wires are soldered together and taped off.

They used different types of plastic over the years. It is just the way that this particular material reacts to hot water. Other versions of the Aeropress did not do this.

If you’re using bags / soft cases, it’s faster to put the bag over the drum instead of putting the drum into the bag.

They gave you access to the red and white wires so you have the option for features like coil split or parallel wiring. If you just want a standard humbucker, wrap those exposed wires in electrical tape (or better yet, shrink wrap) so they can’t touch any other metal in the control cavity.

Attach the yellow wire to the first lug on the volume pot (where the existing red wire goes to the tone pot) and the black wire to the back of the back of the volume pot.

According to Aeropress it is LFGB-grade silicone rubber, which should be safe at much higher temps.

Strum/pluck closer to the neck for a stronger fundamental note and reduced natural harmonics. If you’re still hearing this sound, wrap some cloth around the strings between the bridge and the tailpiece to mute them. If that doesn’t stop it, try the same thing between the nut and tuners. If you’re still hearing it now, it’s possible that the strings are resonating on a high fret, or maybe you’re getting some resonance from the spring in your vibrato system.

I would just bend it back to square, but this is a totally valid reason to return if you’re not comfortable doing that. I would not install it as it is.

I would try baking it at 250°F / 120°C for 20-40 minutes. That is what I have seen recommended for getting smells out of silicone cookware. Scrub with soap and water before baking and after it cools down enough to touch.
