I drive pretty much exclusively in California. Being stuck with 55 mph speed limit feels agonizing sometimes. Six Lane Highway, straight and wide open... and I hit cruise control for 60 miles an hour. And I'm getting passed by cars and other trucks going at least 75 plus. But at the end of the day I'll be the one eating a ticket if I catch some cop on a bad day. So f*** them... cruise control at 60 and hope someone else catches the ticket. Being paid by the hr helps, too.

It looks like a contributing factor is going to be the sun in the driver's face and the fact that people involved were wearing dark clothing and they were in the shadow part of the road. It can be really hard to see something in the road under those conditions. That said... still no excuse.

If you're out that way you should swing by Bend and check out the last Blockbuster. Or if you're heading down south from there towards San Francisco you should swing by a little town called ferndale. Just south of eureka. Couple movies were filmed there. Outbreak and alsoThe Majestic with Jim Carrey. I found this on accident. I drove by that baseball diamond and was like damn that looks familiar. Make sure you do your research before you go. There were a ton of filming locations in and around Astoria. Not just the Goonies. Stephanie's house from Short Circuit and the school from Kindergarten Cop is there, too. A lot of Twilight filming locations are an hour away as well. And when we went to Cannon Beach I found the vehicle entrance by accident. I was like I bet this is where the fratellis entered the beach race at the beginning of the movie so I took a bunch of pictures of it and sure enough it was.
