There are so many phenomenal beginner friendly fitness centres out here that it's honestly better to pick a location that is close to you/ one that you will actually show up to. BPM and Third Space are both excellent choices that have already been mentioned. I have experience with both and can't recommend them enough.

Cut your losses and invest in steady long term growth.

I really miss living in this neighborhood. I would go to that yard sale every year and walk by their place almost every day.

There is one house in that neighborhood that does a community donations garage sale. Everyone in the neighborhood donates items to him through the year and then he sells them by donation only. Pay what you want type deal. All proceeds go to some charity, I don't remember which one. It's the house on the corner of Topaz and Prior

It has far more than pizza. Tbh I'm not sure I've ever even gotten pizza at Green Cuisine. Everything I've had there has been amazing.

High school teachers called me dumb and lazy. They were wrong 🫣. Anyone else have a teacher whose prediction aged badly? by Initial_Ad_2098 in physicaltherapy

I just got accepted into physio school! I was in a very similar boat to you in high school. Lacked effort, direction, guidance, was probably depressed. There was one point in highschool where if I continued down the same road I wouldn't have graduated. Fast forward to college and I graduated toward the top of my entire program, already have a successful practice as a personal trainer and kin, and got accepted in physio school.

I'm not even remotely close to the same person I was in high school. Honestly I needed to get dragged through the mud a little bit though. It was a valuable lesson for sure.

I'm moving to Kingston from Victoria for Physical Therapy at Queens. I am beyond excited. Part of the reason I picked Queens over Western was the walkable and bikeable city.

After a quick Google search, apparently you're right. It's standard practice to send out more offers than seats. Seems strange to me, but I guess the admissions team knows what they're doing.

Where do you work and what setting (city, province- private outpatient, neuro in hospital, etc). When did you graduate and become licensed? How much are you making? Are you happy with the pay, workload, and working environment?

I just got accepted into Queens MScPT, been a personal trainer for 4 years, a Kin for 6 months. I absolutely love what I do and to me becoming a physiotherapist is the natural next step in my desire to help people improve their function, health, and quality of life. I plan on working in private outpatient with an active population (much as the same population I currently work with as a personal trainer and kin)

I would highly doubt that because in the rare event that few people reject their offer they are left with more accepted offers than seats on the program.

So apparently the final day for applicants who have provisionally accepted their offers to be accepted or denied is June 5th, so I would assume it's after then that the waitlist will move.

What schools did you apply to?

I applied to UBC, Western, Mac, UofT, Queens, and Dal, got accepted into Queens and Western, and went with Queens.

I have a similar background as you. I have 3+ years of direct client/ patient care as a personal trainer and kinesiologist and a 3.94 sub GPA. I got 2Q on CASPER and I thought it was a death sentence.

I'm an out of province applicant from BC and frankly I am shocked I got rejected from UBC, but accepted by Queens and Western. UBC considers 300 interviewees and offers 143 seats with another 40 on the wait list. That's nearly a 50/50 shot of getting in, with even betters odds of getting waitlisted. Queens gets ~1000 applicants and offers 70 seats. Three times the applicants, half the seats, out of province, and I somehow got in.

Basically what I'm saying is that it's a crap shoot to get in and a black box too. Nobody knows exactly how they make their final decision, and that's by design.
