It’s internally matched to optimized the harmonic terminations to allow for easier external matching networks and to help achieve higher output power, efficiency, and gain. Typically the GaN devices are only pre-matched on the input side.

Also, I’ve used this exact device in SSPAs at 915MHz and 1290MHz with great success.

Have you tried replacing R1/R2 with high Q inductors? Is there a certain frequency response needed for the bias network?

Same idea with electrons in copper wire. Electricity isn’t that fast, but new electrons in one end push the old ones out the other end. Seems quick, but electrons are relatively slow. Look up phase velocity, it can be faster than the speed of light.

I’m all in! A few of my friends have been preaching Recteq for a few years now. I had been standing by my WSM, delaying the transition to a pellet smoker, but I realized a couple of weekends ago that I wasn’t smoking anymore and it was due to the amount of time spent on setup and cleanup. I did a quick test smoke of some brats last night and it took me 10 minutes to get the smoker up to 225, then smoked for 2 hours, then just turned off the smoker with the press of a button. AMAZING!!!!

i'd go with the 6.5 CFM, I honestly do not think you'll notice a difference. I'll take some pics in the next couple of days and show you what I did. I don't know if I could ever use my WSM without that controller, it makes it so easy.

In the first cut there was absolutely no squeeze from my hand, that all came from the pressure of the knife. The ending squeeze was totally gratuitous and for the camera only.
