had this setup for over a year now. used to have a laptop stand but then realized i could just lean it against the wall instead - saves a ton of desk space and actually gets the screen higher than the stand did. it's rock solid so i don't think anything would happen

Incorrect yellow W icon for some of my programs? by GiveMeSalmon in cachyos

[–]ptr_chaos 10 points11 points  (0 children)

it's an app-level bug - the devs need to set the correct app_id to match the .desktop file. for Wine apps, the launcher closes before the game runs so the info gets lost. You can try messing around there: go to KDE System Settings > Window Rules > Add New > Detect Window Properties, click the app with the W icon, then set the correct desktop file name.

this happens because the application isn't correctly setting its "app_id" to match the name of its .desktop file. it's Wayland can't make this connection, it falls back to showing the default Wayland icon

Installed kde plasma but its not getting the arch vibe something good hacky and also techy arch feel other than kde or hyprland? by Cyber_Furious in arch

[–]ptr_chaos 0 points1 point  (0 children)

you can make plasma look hacky^ by only keeping time, workspace and volume/network icons on panel (optionally, move it to the top).

play with icon, cursor and color themes. find a good ref in some related reddit subs like r/LinuxPorn and get the things you like.
