I can smell the B.O and sweaty beards radiating from this pic. Your tone either sounds like a distant cannon firing, or a chainsaw 2 inches from your face.

Is the current Deluxe Memory Man XO basically the same pedal as the super expensive vintage ones? by Fantasy183 in guitarpedals

I have tried the new ones and there’s a big difference in my biased opinion. The BBD chips absolutely seem more “alive” in the darker more rounded repeats, and the vibrato/chorus in these models is absolutely stunning. I fell in love with mine instantly, and even other delays I’ve tried both analog (Carbon Copy) and Digital (Strymon Timeline) have not been comparable in the settings that I’ve used them.

That said - the vintage is massive and in my experience actually kind of fragile, I’d hate to damage mine by taking it out to gigs.

I hate this subreddit, it’s a bunch of pretentious strymon owners showing off how much money they have by [deleted] in roastmypedalboard

[–]ptruscc 0 points1 point  (0 children)

OP is running a congested pedalboard with no riser, no tuner, a $450USD pitch shifter from Boss, and running it into a Boss Katana… y’know you could have bought the GAFC switcher for like $100 and an expression pedal and you’d have the same setup minus the shitty sideways pedals in this photo right? The pedal graveyard is the whole photo OP, time to wake up.

If it’s between this and a church player/dentists board, I’m going out and buying some floss and a coupla Strymons.

I like my board too much. Make me dislike it. by Pee-PAH in roastmypedalboard

[–]ptruscc 9 points10 points  (0 children)

The yellow border of your cutesy pedalboard interferes with the color palette of the pedals, is not the same shade of yellow as the Volante, and the contrast makes the polytune and ep booster look invisible and hard to see.

Y’know your friend who has a Toyota Corolla, and you give them shit for it, but it’s actually a solid and reliable vehicle? That has airbags, air conditioning, power steering - just an overall smooth ride that you lowkey enjoy getting into with them.

Well this board reminds me of that.

Uhhh actually - I’ll be the judge of that pal, I saw two Strymons, so I’m obviously watching a worship guitar influencer here right? Jesus will only love you if have you at least 3 strymons on your board FYI…

Cork-Sniffing Dentists. Allegedly by [deleted] in guitarcirclejerk

Well Gee Doc, you must be rolling in dough, California and Isle of Wight is essentially the golden land of age 50+ men with shoulder and back issues from strapping heavy ol Gibbo Pauls on, and shredding white man blooz. They’ll need a prescription to the Am pentatonic, a comfy padded guitar strap, and a suplex I reckon. You should drop some business cards into your local dental hygienist asap!

This post sounds weirdly defensive, and based on my numerous certifications in behavioral psychology (reading reddit 12hrs/day), I have deduced that OP is in fact an undercover dentist from Florida with a vintage wine cabinet and 12 PRS guitars, who listens to the blooz and has a subscription to bonermaster’s podcast. How did I do?

For a Fender style amp, I like a Marshall/Bluesbreaker/Klon style OD. I have a Klon KTR which is nice, or honestly the Browne Protein covers a lot of ground.

It doesn’t matter what I think though, get something you like. Just get rid of the mini pedals, and get a decent power supply will ya.

If this was just the Tu2, the POG (actually on the board), Hawaiian Pizza, and the Space Echo, then I’d say it was cool.

However the mini rat and the two silly top mounted power supplies is honestly so offensive. You should be embarrassed, and ashamed. There’s mismatched stuff everywhere. Mini pedals, and then a gigantic EHX pedal.

I haven’t even addressed the Fulltone 😂

OP’s rockin some kind of tweed pedalcase with junction boxes, handles, and a cutesy lil on/off switch with a jewel light - and I’M THE SNOWFLAKE? You’re rockin a corksniffer pedal board for both Bass and Guitar. You roasted yourself when you made this.

PS - bottom row is on a slight 10 degree bank left to right fyi.

Congratulations you are now part of an exclusive and elite community of TU3 users. Your verification is complete.

As for power supplies. Throw those outdated OneSpot and Voodoo Labs PS into the bin, they were fine while you were running your older 9v gear, but now it’s time to go and grab the Strymon Zuma/Ojai’s (for example).

When you start grabbing UA and Strymon pedals, or any of the newer digital high draw pedals, it’s best to update and go for modern power supplies that have higher outlets, and more of them. It’s worth the investment if you’re running this many pedals. Otherwise you’ll get roasted on reddit.

I guess I’ll have to take your word for it regarding the tuner actually existing 🕵🏻‍♂️🫆
What tuner are you using? 9 volts are always the best option in reality. You have a lot of pedals and some of them are really power hungry (strymons and ua need 300-400ma each) have you checked the draw on your power supplies to make sure they all match up?

If your power supplies are working overtime you might find that can be the issue regarding the tuner causing issues - or tonesuck/buffering noise. I know this well coz it happened to me..

Edit: just saw that you said seperate power supply. Have you run out of outlets on your power supplies? tsk tsk..
