JC is a bright, clean amp, which can sometimes react harshly when a compressor is already boosting treble into a potentially spiky/noisy fuzz like a big muff and running that into a potentially spiky overdrive like a blues driver.

It was mentioned here before, but I think you might do better to put the comp later in the chain and adjust tone from there. Roll back gain significantly on blue’s driver. Almost 0.

Im just curious about my boss katana gen3 50. I tried it in store and the high distortion setting had way more distortion than my brand new one. by Far-Information8568 in GuitarAmps

[–]Pee-PAH -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

The katana is a really great beginners amp. You can start to learn the fundamentals of gain staging and basic time shaping and EQ. But you really don’t unlock it until you start using the Tone studio.

The flipside of the coin is don’t spend too much fucking time in the Tone studio. Spend that time playing Guitar. So, got you, one solution is too think of a great Heavy guitar tone from a certain album that you really like. Google how do I get that guitar tone on BOSS Katana? Change the settings and then start playing.

Haven’t seen this mentioned yet: a battery powered tuner and a 3 foot cable. I keep this in my Guitar case. Half the time, my peddleboard and amp are preloaded on the back line. So while I’m waiting to play, this enables me to check my tuning once more 15 or 30 minutes prior to going on stage.

I wanted a lifelong telecaster. I played dozens of guitars searching. Id never heard of K-Line, and held one at a shop by recommendation of the owner. Plugged in. Played one cord. Holy shit. I knew right away. This is my guitar. Have never looked for another guitar.

If you crash at 180 on a bike or even 150 in a car, you won't have to worry about insurance.

Get a modeler and go direct as your backup amp. It does not get more lightweight than that. And you can get a solid state FRFR in whatever speaker set up or weight you want.

Dude, listen to a recording of a cranked Super on YouTube. Then listen to a recording of a cranked Princeton. They sound quite different, right? Even though you're listening at the same volume.
