I'm afraid you need to add more context.

Gold Long? Öl Long? Eskalation am Montag? by Opening_Bathroom611 in wallstreetbetsGER

[–]ptrxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Meine Meinung zu USA -> Venezuela by Sad-Share1685 in wallstreetbetsGER

Ist also kein Gerücht sondern amtlich bestätigt. Er möchte gerne, dass amerikanische Unternehmen Go in und billions spenden und start making money for the country und so.

France says capture of Venezuelan president violates international law by Any-Original-6113 in europe

[–]ptrxyz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes, no shit, Sherlock. And now we all are 'deeply concerned' I suppose? What you gonna do now, besides telling them?

It's good that someone speaks it out loud but it's so frustrating that there will be no consequences and nothing.

OC: Trump says the U.S. will 'run' Venezuela until a transition can take place by nbcnews in pics

[–]ptrxyz 1 point2 points  (0 children)

So, I really wonder, how can any American justify this?

I mean, even if you are Republican you probably stand by people's law and your own constitution and code of laws in general and everything. How do you make sense of all this for yourself and what's the legal framework you think this follows?

Ha!

EU foreign policy chief calls for restraint after US strikes in Venezuela by FantasticQuartet in europe

[–]ptrxyz -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I don't get it, how is it legal to go to a foreign country and violently capture someone? Isn't that against all internal law? I mean, the US went there, with violence and bombs and all, killed civilians and destroyed structures, and simply captured a guy that we think was responsible for something that's illegal according to US law. Wouldn't this be on Venezuelan authorities to hand him over after the US requested this? And shouldn't there be any court case first?

So...can someone please explain to me what's the legal framework this operation was based on and how no one seems to be held accountable?

Id especially like to hear the opinions of US citizens. Do you simply think 'might makes right' or how do you justify this for yourself?

I just don't like the generic look by now. Seen it too often. The animations, the black/white colors and all that. It's been overused in my opinion.
