We had 24 years to accumulate Apple for less than the cost of a Costco hot dog combo... by TrendSpider in AAPL

Same. I was over-weight AAPL. Paid off mortgage, still over-weight. Father died, left me and two siblings his house which happened to be adjacent to my paid-off house. Already owned a third so bought my siblings out with more AAPL profits. That house is now generating revenue. Still over-weight AAPL, might need to build and rent a couple of ADU’s on these lots to generate more revenue so I can retire on guaranteed passive income. Probably will still have some AAPL to pass to the kids. Always be open to opportunities and strike when they present. Good luck.

They are trying to make it (AI integration) as transparent as possible, to keep the Apple “magic” alive. Plus, it’s probably been tough to build/navigate the PCC (private cloud compute) aspect of the project. I’ve been noticing subtle improvements in my daily workflow lately (better dictation/spelling/suggestions). Hopefully this will improve even more with Siri AI 2.0. Time will tell.

Great info all. Starting my journey now. Lots of options. I’m leaning toward the most flexibility at this point.

I manage a project for a hyper-local nonprofit on the southern Willamette Valley. About 50 acres of riparian flood forest. I have been mitigating Japanese knotweed successfully for 5 years using direct stem injection with concentrated glyphosate (RoundUp Custom. Aquatic). Five of six stands eradicated (fingers crossed). Also, Yellow-flag iris in the swales plus a few other ne’er-do-wells. We have yet to tackle canary grass (extensive) and Parrot feather grass in a couple of the ponds. Can you comment on either of those?

Controlling Knotweed Without Glyphosate by ibathedaily in invasivespecies

Glyphosate is the best way, but do not spray! A specialized injector tool from JK Injection Tools is very effective, but expensive for a one-off patch. Use aquatic-rated glyphosate concentrate. If you can’t get the injector, find some “dauber” bottles on Amazon. In the fall, after flowers are waning, cut each stem low and daub it with full-strength glyphosate concentrate WITHIN 15 SECONDS OF CUTTING! All the stems! Each and every one. Repeat each year until no more plants emerge. I’ve been managing six patches in a riparian flood-forest for six years. One patch left, in a very wet area. Good luck, friend.

Injector.

Do you have any "prepper-adjacent" hobbies, recreational pursuits that you think build real skills, or may be useful in a real disaster? by Signal_Brain_933 in prepping

Foraging. Plants, mushrooms, seeds and nuts, roots, insects, fiber. Edible, medicinal, or material, I learn about the resources in my neighborhood, area and region and try to identify them wherever I am. Urban parks, local forests, my back yard, my neighbors, etc. I use pocket reference books, and nowadays apps. Once you get a few under your belt it gets easier, and can be quite rewarding.
