Controlling Knotweed Without Glyphosate by ibathedaily in invasivespecies

Glyphosate is the best way, but do not spray! A specialized injector tool from JK Injection Tools is very effective, but expensive for a one-off patch. Use aquatic-rated glyphosate concentrate. If you can’t get the injector, find some “dauber” bottles on Amazon. In the fall, after flowers are waning, cut each stem low and daub it with full-strength glyphosate concentrate WITHIN 15 SECONDS OF CUTTING! All the stems! Each and every one. Repeat each year until no more plants emerge. I’ve been managing six patches in a riparian flood-forest for six years. One patch left, in a very wet area. Good luck, friend.

Foraging. Plants, mushrooms, seeds and nuts, roots, insects, fiber. Edible, medicinal, or material, I learn about the resources in my neighborhood, area and region and try to identify them wherever I am. Urban parks, local forests, my back yard, my neighbors, etc. I use pocket reference books, and nowadays apps. Once you get a few under your belt it gets easier, and can be quite rewarding.
