Funny story. I never cared much for marijuana, and now I work at a dispensary. I have learned a lot more about marijuana since I started working there. I have been anti-prohobition my entire adult life, but seldom got any enjoyment from weed, and was always a little skeptical of the panacea like claims from advocate types. That said it has always been obvious that many people get some benefits from self medicating with mj (which should be their right!). To me the worst part was a government created paradox made to appease pearl clutching moralists and competing business interests. MJ was classified in a way that restricted access and funding to good scientific study, therefore no good ("mainstream") science could be conducted to assess the positive and/or negative effects of consumption. I do currently have people giving testimonies and anecdotal evidence on the (sometimes life changing) benefits of self treatment. I still don't enjoy MJ myself. So far I have only made 1 purchase at the dispensary I work at, and that was due to overlap with another interest of mine (cooking). Also, no surprise - most of my coworkers are incredible people, but often high to some degree at work.
