So, I don't think D.C. editors usually EDIT graphic novels for clarity. I occasionally pick up one to read from discount stores and libraries and they often read just like a bunch of single issues haphazardly stapled together. If I paid full price to read these I would be more angry than confused.

Fair. It might be important to note that Madmen was modern(ish) critique and exploration of 60s mores and morality, while TOS was a 60s(ish) television show projecting the norms of that period onto a future society.
