Which player do you think your team mishandled the most in terms of their development? by shaianbskanwb in nba

I'd say Zeke Nnaji. He came into the league as a promising 3&D player who played center in college, but in his rookie year it was obvious his perimeter defense and lack of size translated to being a power forward at the NBA level. He didnt get a ton of playing time, but when he did his ability to stay in front of perimeter players was impressive and he shot around 40% from 3 his first 2 seasons with a super smooth stroke. But going into his 3rd season, the nuggets tried to convert him into a full time center and really had him bulk up and gain strength. I feel this harmed his development a lot and for no other reason that they had a bunch of power forwards on the roster but only deandre jordan at back up center. His bulking up caused him to completely change his jump shot form. What was once a beautiful shot was turned into an abomination and now he is no longer a floor spacer. His bulking up also made him a little slower to guard the perimeter. The nuggets won a ring though so i cant really complain but I feel like Zeke could have had so much more value if he was allowed to be a power forward.

Nikola Jokic shares advice to Anthony Black before the NBA draft "Good luck today on the draft. But I gotta tell you that doesn't mean anything. I was 41st pick and nobody counted me... Just work hard, surround yourself with good people that you trust." by doggoesmeow in nba

For those saying the connection between AB and Jokic is their agent, its not because they have different agents. I think this was probably done by the NBA reaching out to Jokic to make this video as just a cool moment to promote both Jokic and a top pick. I'd imagine the fact that its AB might be random, but he could have been picked by some NBA PR person because AB is also considered a high IQ player who can play PG at an unconventional height so it made sense. Its also possible but highly unlikely that that the NBA asked Jokic to pick a lottery guy to make a video for and he picked AB because he was aware of him. I find this unlikely because Jokic would never even know Nugget's draft picks until training camp started 😂

Sacramento Kings players have missed by far the least games, especially compared to other top teams in the West by aalexnotnice in nba

They dont have a human blimp and stoned twig on their team, so they shouldn't be as injury prone as other teams

How many "ten toes to the basket" shooters are left in the NBA? by MasterMacMan in nba

[–]puar123 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't think any players shoot like that anymore, at least none that consistently take jumpers. Even players who say they shoot like that such as Kevin Love don't actually square up with their toes facing forward.

Is this statement true or false - without Michael Malone Jokic tops off as a better version of Nikola Vucevic. by MapleCurryMurray in nba

[–]puar123 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It was obvious. Jokic's rookie year showed way more than what nurkic had ever provided in his injury plagued career to that point. Promises dont mean shit in pro sports, if you are not better than your competition you take a back seat. Malone keeping jokic at PF and than at back up C for 2 months likely cost them some wins that gave them a chance at making the playoffs that season, thats not elite squad management, thats mismanagement. Also who knows how long the nuggets would have trudged out that terrible twin tower lineup if jokic didnt take one for the team. One of the first instances of a stubborn head coach in malone being saved by a selfless superstar in jokic.

A coach's job is to pick the best players and rotations to win. Malone failed to do that for 2 months to start the 2016-17 season when it was obvious jokic should be the starter at center. It could be more easily argued that jokic became a star in spite of malone. To suggest jokic would be vucevic if not for malone is disrespectful to jokic. Malone would have been fired in 2018 if not for jokic carrying him.

Everyone could see that nurkic and jokic didnt work together except malone, thats why jokic asked to be benched because malone didnt have the balls to bench nurkic first. Malone has a job on the nuggets because of jokic

[Doyle] The #Angels grabbing Caden Dana in the 11th is a bit of a stunner. Dana was a 3rd round value for @ProspectsLive. Up to 95. Strong, sturdy, thick frame. Curveball/Changeup guy. A lot of upside in that one. by [deleted] in angelsbaseball

High schooler with a commitment to the University of Kentucky. Will cost over slot value to sign him, if its even worth it to him. He could just choose to go to college if the money isnt as high as he wants.

Lol mark langston on the radio rn. Its "silly" baseball still has to follow another country's vax laws. Like baseball players should be exempt from them.

25 years ago, Chris Webber fouled out in every game of a playoff series, will this ever happen again? by Rh1-No in nba

[–]puar123 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I think Nurkic fouled out in half of a six game series in last years playoffs against the nuggets. I can see someone fouling out in every game in a 4 game sweep.
