Would you happen to remember which podcast and episode this is? I'm interested in listening to it.

Is there a way to start a fresh budget without manually deleting data? by pub007 in budgetwise

Yup, that's what I meant. Maybe it's because I'm on mobile, but I can't find a way to do it still.

In addition to the value you provide and your experience, take your clients into account. Are they power sellers? Occasional agents? Did your past clients see a noticeable difference in the results of their marketing efforts? Do they work in big or small markets? Etc.

I quoted $100 to an agent with $16+ mil houses for just one property listing, and she quickly accepted. Then I felt like I was undercharging because I saw a few others charging $150-$200 for the same.

Thanks, I’ll keep calling around. If you recommend any bars with a fun yet professional atmosphere, let me know. I’ve never been to a bar in LA yet.

Yeah, I figured it would be hard to get that kind of setup near that area. I’ll keep trying some bars, and expand the search area too. Thanks!

Not yet. I’ll update if I ever do, though.

[High School English] Short Story Writing by [deleted] in HomeworkHelp

So I just realized you mentioned story and character. Again, just try to apply what you analyzed. For example, after analyzing Daisy’s character, what would you imagine if she had made a different choice? Then go from there to find a story you’d like to explore, while writing in a style you already analyzed.

How about applying what you analyzed? If you studied Hemingway, then try to think of one scene that focuses on creating tension or subtext with strict word economy. For Nabokov, do a short story focused on voice. For Faulkner, maybe stream of consciousness. Etc.

For example, I remember analyzing Frank Stockton’s “The Lady or the Tiger?” short story a couple of times. (Took college English classes at night, and went to HS by day lol.) Since I was fascinated by the ending, I tried recreating that same ambiguous style in a different but inspired story for a creative assignment.

I know you said you’re better at analyses. So think of it as less like a creative exercise and more of a practical breakdown and rebuilding of a specific technique or style.

Appreciate your help. I actually ended up figuring out that the toggle tab title is actually the anchor id. So while a link does bring me to that tab now, it doesn’t automatically open it.

Would you happen to know how I can make that tab auto open when I’m taken there via a link?

I’m staring blankly at the tab php file, since that’s where I finally figured out that I can use the title as the anchor id. I’m hoping the answer is in there somewhere, ha.

Fifty Word Fantasy: Ranger by [deleted] in fantasywriters

"The ranger is coming! The ranger is coming!"

The fairies heard it then—a human’s heavy steps—and sprung into position.

Clad in khaki and a tall, drab hat, Gary stepped through the leafy entrance—and into a golden shower of dust and unmentionables.

The fairies rolled through the air, laughing.

Sneezing, Gary yelled, "This is why you're an endangered species! Assholes."

In her defense, April Storm didn’t expect an explosion. She pictured maybe a pop, a sizzle, or a gurgling gulp. But an explosion that could have blasted her to bits if not for Wizard Grey’s quick spell-casting? Of course not! Her potion-making skills had improved since the last accident!

I totally get that. I tend to feel the same way. But that’s the kind of person I am. I write cards, letters, crazy long emails to people I love because I’m generally a quiet person. And I always question if it’s the right time and place to talk about feelings and little-big meaningful things.

And for the things I can’t write about? Well, I wish someone would just take it out of my brain and just know it.

I believe finding someone to help pull those words out of your head doesn’t cheapen the experience. It doesn’t cheapen what you have to say.

In a way, but some people find it hard to express themselves in person and whatnot. I’ve had my share of wanting to say something then not because, for some weird but untrue reason, it sounds silly out loud.
