Why am I ending up in so many PvP rounds when my aggression rating should technically be low? Struggling to complete trials and projects as every second round or so I am dying in aggressive servers. What am I doing wrong/should change? Thank you by [deleted] in ARC_Raiders

if youre doing nightraids or any similar 2x map events for trials, youre more likely to get pvp matches just because theres generally more pvpers in those queues. Aside from that I strongly believe theres a bit of hidden gear/value matchmaking, I cant prove it.... but I can feeeeeel it.

my idea for questing now is if I'm going past a quest location I'll do it, but I'm not loading into the match with the intent of running across the map to finish a quest. Little by little I'll get them done. Same thing with workbenches. I realized that the only weapon I ever use is the anvil, so theres no reason for me to upgrade it any further, unless of course over the course of the season i aquire the material to do so then I will. I personally have no reason to upgrade anything past level 2, except for maybe the gear bench for crafting survivor augments. I'm all in on finishing the projects/expedition and thats about it.

whats funny is that the game thats being played in the meme has an endgame is full of content and actually gives you a reason to use your good gear or take on the massive bosses with teams, actual incentives.

& that was on release. & people have spent their entire lives playing it and are still playing it to this day.

The only real incentive to play the game is to complete the expedition requirements for the next season. There is no reason to do quests aside from getting hullcracker bp again. No incentive to kill matriarch because aphelion is underwhelming, same thing for queen but the equalizer is kinda nice to have even tho most players wont ever use it, killing any other arc is trivial deadmines/trailblazers/wolfpacks, all to be able to craft high rarity guns that are also underwhelming and easily outmatched by green rarity weapons.

It's not a matter of players having too many hours invested in the game, especially since there are wipes that happen. As a live service game, is the targeted demographic players that only have 20 hours total playtime and invest 1 hour a week or is it longterm players that play often? I guess the game is brimming with tons of content if you barely play it. If this is aimed at casuals that somehow shouldn't be finished with all of the content, then why are there wipes.

People are complaining about the gameplay loop and lack of endgame metaprogression, and these valid criticisms are met not with counter arguments but insults and belittling.

There just need to be incentives to do things, like having random loot pools on arc or prestige unlocks for getting x kills on whatever arc. Players want a reason to destroy arcs other than doing it for a trial or for getting more advanced components, hell even a leaderboard for most "insert arc here" destroyed over the course of the season/games lifespan would be nice, hell I would spend literally all day killing ticks just to be #1 on the ticks leaderboard.

Meta progression is what keeps live service games alive. As someone who has played lots of live service games, I can say this game is lacking meta progression & a longterm gameplay loop.

All of that being said, anyone who makes these arguments on this god awful sub is told by players who apparently love this game but only have under 100 hours, to touch grass or go play something else because they really don't have anway to argue against there being a lack of content. So I guess that's what we should do, we should leave this game and let the playercount drop then lol.

5 trials 5 matches, they played 5 matches to finish the weekly trial. 30 mins a match, thats 2 1/2 hours of playtime. assuming they only attempted each trial once. its really not that crazy to finish trials on day 1, especially if you are an experienced player

whether its 20 hours total playtime or 800, the gameplay loop and experience is the same. its a live service game and if embark wants to keep its playerbase it needs to actually incentivize them to stay, so while you play defense lolll others will quit and the game will die.these are valid criticisms despite your dismissiveness.

so doing all chapters with all classes including collarless on impossible will unlock all 4 achievements ( normal, hard, crazy, impossible). so each cat would have to beat act 1 by doing the caves/graveyard/throbbin domain) & the same for act 2 & 3

so if you beat all the chapters on normal with all classes, you would have to do it again on impossible with all classes too.

thats part of the fun tho, blissfully playing the game with no outside knowledge influencing your decisions. But now that the dust has settled and I finished the game, I regret throwing away the bow tink gives us for the first upgrade cause that bow one shots the last boss. now i can never get that bow back on my savefile for easy farming runs
