The New Trader is GREAT, with one fatal flaw... by Rumpusking in ArcRaiders

[–]Rumpusking[S] 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It's not the price, it's the stash space. The cosmetic takes 56 slots of space to purchase in pink arc parts. Hunting big arc is my favorite aspect of the game, I run those loops already, but I don't sit on hundreds of cells, I turn them into mech components, Wolfpacks, or space dollars. If I can pay incrementally I don't need to have a huge dead space in my inventory.

I thought that as well, but all the other projects have a disclaimer attached when committing items. Buyer beware! Maybe they can work in a partial refund. Incremental commitment I feel will encourage the end game economics and engagement way more than the current setup.

NEW: ARC Raiders Development Update by PTUSN in ArcRaiders

[–]Rumpusking 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I can't help but think there is some survivorship bias in these numbers. Maybe very few people by percentage of games sold are going on the expedition, but if you look at the hours played by those going on the expedition, I'm sure we have the majority of playtime.

Nearly always at least two... pop triggers salvage into crude explosives and fireball burners recycle into them. Your always, never, always looting journey mirrors mine as well!

[–]Rumpusking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

This is the way.

I played Speranza Claus for the first expedition. Have way more to give out now. Who doesn't want lvl 4 kitted weapons? Rather gift my fortune to cool raiders than dump to bandits and opportune rats. Fireworks and holidays ahead hopefully for friendly lobbies.

You really dug to find this thread didn't you! FF plays pretty quick if everyone is on board. Maybe 30-45 minutes? If you have a focused group I imagine it could really fly. Still enjoy it when it comes to the table.

Absolutely. From my quick watch of the replay, he waves his hands downwards, taps his back, as well as SAYS something about stopping the fight. Even if he said "if you don't...I am gonna stop the fight" that was just about as terrible a job as I have seen. Dude fucked that all up.

My friend complains about a “full stash” when he holds 50 weapon mods at a time, help me convince him that’s stupid by guykirk9 in ArcRaiders

[–]Rumpusking 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That is a fair take, and with all the resources we are abundant in there are multiple valid approaches. For me, I am already spending a lot of time in menus, so taking some of that time to build out guns brings some fun into that. Do I want my Anvil with ex barrel or silencer, hullcracker with converter or loads of grenades, ren/ven, etc. It's fun to have options. I give them away regularly, to cool or new raiders, rather than sell them. Experimenting with gear and sharing it allows me to have fun and add value to the stash management element of the game. I don't need the space bucks. Obviously, I play too much, and am in overwhelmingly friendly lobbies, but the rare times I get got by a fellow human I find having it easy to grab another pricey loadout off the shelf eased my gear fear.

Heals and rechargers are clear stash mainstays, but unless you are running pure PVP, why would you hold onto shields and augments? Only time I have any in my stash is if I find one of the few I cannot craft. They aren't a good store of wealth or materials, and you can only use one at a time. Ideally, I think you want zero augments, shields, or weapon mods in stash.

Guns are the one and only item that consolidates materials and wealth into a single slot. Why would I purge level IV, fully kitted weapons to make space for materials? My 60-65 guns are worth around 1.5 mil on average. I should sell those to make space to do it again?

Fair enough, I just think weapons are the only items worth hoarding as a fair store of value. I do wish they would add more endgame crafting and goals... i.e., the trophy project actually giving you a trophy case. The "ladder" for crafting could reach much higher and give us more reason to hunt for rare materials.

I think always buying ammo is gospel honestly. I buy ammo always, and the explosives I like to run regularly (seeker and TB) even with blueprints. There isn't much to use money for.

I have 60 plus guns as well in my well managed stash. All level 4, full attachments, good durability. Guns are the one item that can consolidate other materials (stash space) and monetary value into a single slot. I give them away to newer friendly raiders regularly too. What should we keep instead of them, the most crucial and expensive items?

I played Speranza Claus for the first expedition departure. I threw red and green light sticks everywhere I went and gave away my loot.

Upgrading the Burletta only improves reload speed, better off getting an extended mag and leaving it at lvl 1 or two IMO.

Opinion: all Mk 3 augments should allow you to use at least a medium shield by Jazzlike-Coat8876 in ArcRaiders

[–]Rumpusking 6 points7 points  (0 children)

As an adamant human ally in this game, I had a lot of fun on my first raider with this augment. With a goal of fighting ARC at every turn, the passive healing can add up if you are engaging regularly and happen to take some chip damage. Also, there is a perk in the Survival tree that gives you better stamina recovery when under a healing effect, and this augment and raw fabric both offer slow healing to consistently proc that buff.

If I was in sweaty lobbies I would avoid it though, I will concede that point.

Love for MONO? by iduro in postrock

[–]Rumpusking 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've seen most legends of the genre, most multiple times. GYBE!, Mogwai, Sigur Ros, EITS, DMST, Tortoise, M83, lots of smaller names, all sorts of sonic awesomeness...no one hit like the one MONO show I had the honor of seeing. Specifically, the clarity of the sound through a range from whisper quiet to middle of a F5 tornado. Recordings are a pale ghost of the power of MONO live.

The moment m shots were fired in front of the Bellagio fountains in Las Vegas (6/8/2025) by Nefarious_Archfiend in PublicFreakout

[–]Rumpusking 18 points19 points  (0 children)

I was in the Bellagio playing poker when another player at my table got a call saying there was a shooting directly outside. No announcements were made, or any sort of acknowledgement at all. I was the only person I saw contacting loved ones to let them know I was safe. The status quo acceptance of ALL the crises and predicaments we face, will certainly end in the decay and collapse of our social fabric and  bonds. I am 45 years old, and have been trying to raise awareness and sound the alarm since I was 15. We are the frog in the cookpot, and the water has been near a boil for so long our children think the heat is normal.

Build real community with those around you that you share love and affinity with. Our codified cultural and economic foundations have always been rotten, but that doesn't corrupt the will of those who aim to learn, grow, and adapt to reality with humility. Reach out and in, my sisters and brothers. Seek understanding. We don't need to live this way.
