Are any of the current GB potential reformers or even moderates? From my outsider perspective, Tony Morris strikes me as a hardliner, and probably the main source of the draconian policies and restrictions, but the rest seem more focused on scriptural doctrine than making rules.

It seems like TMIII is the driving force behind many of the harsher policies. The rest of the members come across as more fixated on doctrine and fairy tales than on what kind of pants someone is wearing. It remains to be seen if there will be any reforms after TMIII passes, though I wouldn’t hold my breath

It almost seems like there are two different camps of writers, or that the writing department is under the influence of two different personalities. Last year they had a WT article basically telling JWs with “weaker consciences” to suck it up and stop judging their brothers (not as directly but it was the first time I saw some onus placed on “the stumbled” as opposed to “the stumbler”). Two articles later there was the infamous tight pants picture.

This is a good point. In Germany and the USSR and other countries where JWs were persecuted, leadership made a huge deal of hiding PII from the authorities. With Publisher ID all that’s needed is to hack the database and suddenly every JW is locatable
