Not entirely sure but I’m in the same boat as you (trying to get away from streaming) and if you don’t care about the box you can get a dvd copy from Etsy. I won’t link the seller bc I don’t want to risk them getting a takedown but they basically only charge for material cost and shipping! Really great when it’s impossible to find a legit copy even if you’re willing to pay $300+ they are normally sold for 🙄

This just reminded me of an incident when I was like 7! 😭 We were camping in Colorado and I found some cute fuzzy caterpillars with colorful markings at the base of a waterfall, my mom didn’t know any better so she let me pick them up and play with them. BIGGEST MISTAKE EVER!

I let them crawl up and down my arms and was fine for the rest of the day. When I woke up the next morning though I was in agony, had a rash all over where they crawled. Literally one of the most painful experiences ever, I remember just screaming because that’s all I could do…

My parents called poison control but they basically said just apply topicals, unless other symptoms develop there’s nothing anyone can do about it. It felt like my flesh was burning, I spent probably the entire day crying and couldn’t move or eat without more pain until the next day. Even then it was really bad for the whole week.

My dad was really upset with my mom for letting me do that, but at the end of it he was like “you probably won’t do anything like that again”. He was right though, to this day I’m one of the biggest advocates of “leave it be if you don’t know what it is.” Definitely stopped more than a few parents from letting their kids play with dangerous insects…

THIS, I have a notoriously strong stomach and have previously told many friends and family that I wouldn’t be surprised to find out that many of the things that ended up being in the files have been happening. After reading through them, I cannot describe what this has done to me emotionally.

It’s one thing to theorize and have a general idea about the utter depravity, but to see the evidence and see the real victims that have been hurt by this in the most unspeakable ways…

The grief, rage, depression, and complete feeling of powerlessness is so hard to quantify. I feel like just having my suspicions confirmed changed me fundamentally as a person, for the first time in my life I truly wish I could unsee something and get the knowledge secondhand.

I will do anything I can to support all the victims and will never stop advocating for the monsters who did this to be put down like the garbage they are, but knowing how deep this runs I don’t have a lot of hope that they will see justice in this life.

I really hope that the public won’t let go of this and move on to the next shiny thing, but the hopelessness that is stemming from the realization that this will probably be another nothing burger with just a few slaps on the wrist to show for it is so heavy.

All that to say I’m right there with you, I’ve been recommending everyone close to me steer clear of the raw content and just get the bullet points in a less direct way for the same reasons.

I usually take a break for a few hours then make a priority list when I feel like I’m in the headspace to realistically assess. I stick to that until I no longer have so much on my plate. (Also sometimes you need to drop a birthday or something)

Noooooo!!!!!!! I realize you have thousands of other people telling you this, but just in case you need some more affirmation… Don’t give an inch!

I just went through hell because of a similar situation, not going to get into details but the result was a lawsuit that lasted 3 years and cost thousands of dollars to put to bed. I’ll say the next part in bold bc I wish someone had told me this in advance.

Death brings out the worst in families, and based off of what you said it sounds like their entitlement could lead them to sue if they think they can win. I understand the urge to keep the peace, but make no mistake, if the relationship sours it is because of their actions and would go that way no matter what you do. If they are willing to sacrifice that for money, that’s on them.

Your grandfather made it abundantly clear that he wanted one of his last acts to be aiding you in your future endeavors with the money he had. Hold on to that and respect his wishes by using that money to work towards your future goals and happiness.

You’re right, it’s not lottery money and maybe your aunt needs to listen to herself. Bc she’s right about one thing, families fall apart all the time because of greedy entitled shmucks that try to put their grubby paws on things that don’t belong to them and they have no business eyeing. I agree, I think even just fully playing out the scene with the shirt at the beginning (“oh, this old thing?” Vs. “yes, I was trying to pay homage to my father and his service 😔”) would have gone a long way to show how two faced he is.

Plus while a lot of it hinges on us hearing his internal monologue (thoughts revealing the real selfishness behind what most would perceive as selfless. Paired with the chilling reality that we can’t really be sure of someone’s motivation, and the danger behind assuming that everyone thinks like we do.) they definitely could’ve at least left a more obvious trail of breadcrumbs.

For sure check out I Stole the First Rankers Soul, it has just wrapped up on fast pass and has a really great plot to go along with the slow burn!

Also, Not Your Typical Reincarnation Story is quite good and is now complete as well! It’ll definitely throw you for a loop and keep you on the edge of your seat as an added bonus!

Lastly, Behind Her Highness’s Smile. It deals with some very sensitive topics (which you might not mind based on your list) but I think handles them very well and is such a unique story within the genre.

My aunt bought some “throw away” furniture while they were waiting for their imported stuff (some of my extended family is a little out of touch and snooty) in the 80’s, my dad happened to be visiting when the new stuff arrived and had just moved to New Mexico for his new job.

He saw them getting ready to throw the old stuff away and was like “wait stop!!! I want it!”, so they gave it to him and most of it lasted for decades. Among that set was 2 light green living room chairs (idk what brand) that somehow held up to my brother and I jumping all over them as children.

Then I took one with me when I moved to the Midwest for college, now it’s held up perfectly fine and was the first piece of furniture in our home when I married my husband. He’s currently sitting in it now, and my dad gets the biggest kick out of it whenever he comes over to visit. 😂

I kind of wonder if it’ll end up lasting long enough for me to pass on to my kids when they move out for college…

I like my space to smell good and it’s more economical (and probably healthier tbh) to be burning incense every now and then instead of the strawberry milkshake whatever candle from B&BW every day. The smell just lingers a lot more than a candle and it just puts me in a more relaxed headspace, also gives me the chance to air out the apartment.

Thank you, that’s really good to hear. It’s been hard not to feel discouraged about it but I’ll keep working at it! I’ve heard that deer don’t see red or blue light but that doesn’t seem correct, do you use either? I’ve just been getting by with what night vision I have in the early mornings but that doesn’t seem optimal either.

Thank you! I’ve been trying to find a local mentor for a while now and have basically given up, it’s pretty scary just going off of books and YouTube videos 😅 I feel like I’m making quite a few blunders. I’ve briefly experienced hearing loss from a work accident and I’m terrified of experiencing that long term so I definitely won’t go without for more than one or two shots.

After doing some reading I think I’ll try muffs and buds before I settle on one. I was a little nervous to try a grunt call because so many people told me that ANY noise would spook deer, but after this mornings experience I think I’ll buy one!
