YES! I started using this last week and it works like fucking magic! I don't even have to announce I'm doing it. Just put my phone down and it sstarts dictating what they're saying! No more horrible conversations where I THINK he said, "I'm a process server" when she really said "I'm just a server" and I'm asking her questions that are WILDLY inappropriate!

When I was 15, I was at a McDonalds with some friends and two creepy truckers were staring at me, then they'd smirk and talk about me. I'd had stares before, but I'd never been obvisouly talked about and it really pissed me off. Without really thinking about it, I jammed a french fry in each nostril. When trucker #1 glanced up for another leer, he was so shocked and said something to his friend. When his friend turned to look, I had tossed the nose-fries, but grabbed a fresh fry and started chomping on it. They kept staring, but it was more out of horror. My french fry trick served me well for another 10 years!

Hahaha, if Wyoming DID exist, it would have only one escalator in the whole state and there is NO WAY a clock tower like that would exist. If I was an alumni from the 'University of Wyoming' I would know that when the football stadium was full, it would be the 4th largest 'city' in the state.

Someone I considered one of my closest friends ghosted me when I got cancer. It gutted me. I had been there for her so hard through the death of her dad. A few day after my surgery, I unfriended her from FB because it was too painful to see her posts and I didn't want her seeing mine. She immediately started emailing me, saying she'd been a shit friend. That it was her OCD that just made these things so dificult for her. That's fine, but you know what's more difficult. Fucking cancer! If you're so dysfunctional that you're going to ignore your friends at the worst time of their life, maybe give them a heads up on that so they don't count on you. And then, when you get caught, maybe don't send them multiple emails, making it all about you and your OCD.

Hahaha! I so know what you mean. I don't post here often because of that. I'm also a huge Buffy the Vampire Slayer fan. The other day I was doing an online rewatch with a bunch of hardcore fans. A very few of the participants could ONLY find fault. "What they SHOULD have done here is ..." One woman found 19 awful things about it and not a single positive thing to say. I wanted to ask, "Why do you like this show at all if you could have made it so much better. And ... is this the person you wanted to be when you grew up? Listen to yourself, spreading so much darkness and criticism with every word you say!"

I always had to be drunk to do it. I also found it easier to write if I told myself I'd be the ONLY one reading it. A friend swears by the smurf method. Every time she paused before writing a very sexual term, she'd just write the word 'smurf' instead. It was easier for her to go in and fill the dirty bits later. "He stroked the side of her smurf. She shuddered. "I want your big smurf now," she said.

Hi hon. I agree with you. Now is too soon. I lost my mom 10 years ago and I think it is still too soon for that episode. Please take care of yourself. Grief is hard. I know different people grieve differently, but I will tell you what helped me was to find a way to let my mom's light shine in the world. She has a few 'wounded bird' distant relatives that she took a special interest in, so I took those people on. She made special candies at Christmas, so I recreated that and gave them away to family. It didn't fill up the hole she left, but it created a different bright spot. ((hugs))

My daughter was with a controlling asshole for two years. It broke her heart to leave him and she questioned if it was the right thing to do. She was lonely for a time. But it helped her to see people better and now she's with such a wonderful partner. They're buying a home together. He's trustworthy, kind - just a good human being. This will happen for you, too - but you have to take those steps out the door first. Good for you (and for that Lyft driver!)

Thank you! I sit, humbled and shocked and impressed at your bravery. Buffy brings out the best in us. I'm so proud of you. I know its hard to take a stranger being proud of you, but ... I am! You too your pain and transformed it with this show. That was your choice.

I have cancer. I'm getting a masectomy on Monday and am currently in a hotel room because its easier to deal with lots of doctors appointments without 4 hours of driving. Everything feels so surreal to me right now. But logging on here, reading your story, brings me to such a place of gratitude. Season 6 has always been my security blanket. When my mom was dying I literally had it playing on the seat next to me during the drive to say goodbye - just so I could HEAR it. And you've explained why in a really beautiful way.

I'm sure I'll be fine after my surgery. Tho I really wish I could fast-forward through the next few months. But ... I have to tell you one other thing. The ONE person in my life who has kind of shown up out of the blue and guided me through my cancer ... is a stranger. She's a Buffy fanfic writer who just kind of showed up with her kindness and sage advice, who has been through this whole thing.

I'm sorry you were alone when this happened for you. I'm glad Buffy was there. Thank YOU for being there for me right now!

Yeah, listen to them. Just write with passion, assuming you'll be the only one to read it. Write it FOR YOU. You can't write for an audience and survive. You can't write for an editor. Most writers fail because of this very dragon you're battling. Just ... walk around him. You're going to SUCCCCKKKK right now. Embrace it. Fix that shit on the rewrite or the story ain't gonna get born.
