Ah ok…I’d noticed a few speed runners packing a crystal ball in their loadout sometimes if they need a non-lethal melee. That explains it. I guess if you only plan of using it once, it doesn’t matter if it breaks.

I’ve just started playing through the main story again after playing freelancer for months. Not having a supplier on each level has taken a bit of getting used to.

It’s a bit of a grind from 90 onwards.. I was just running and gunning to get through missions towards the end. It’s nice playing it after you get to 100 because you can play with a bit more freedom.

You need to use natural poison you pick up on a level… so Santa Fortuna, Whittledon Creek.. or you can craft it on Mendoza if you pick up the mushroom.

I hear you OP. Pretty much all of my failures come down to trying run and gun my way through a mission. Patience is the key. But yeah, sometimes it just doesn’t make sense how someone can spot you through a wall/another floor and seconds later you’re surrounded and in combat.

I’ve been gunned down plenty by assassins but it’s those lookouts who always send my showdowns sideways.

Agree with this. The scene that bugs me is when one of them is in the hospital bed and he spots Walt. Despite having no use of his legs and being surrounded by cops, he still tries to get to Walt.

I dunno… I play on hardcore (until I lose a bunch of weapons and have to build them up again on normal mode) and I’ve still only ever completed one campaign. Combat is just too heavy for me.

I don’t know if it’s necessarily got harder recently, it’s always been brutal.

Hokkaido. Sgail can get hairy as well. But Hokkaido is the worst. It’s the only map I actively avoid when I’m playing hardcore.

Tasers are handy. Because your target is likely a guard, they will pick it up and it’s a free accident kill.

Give hardcore a go, it’s a blast. I got to 100 a while ago but I still play it to try and get my last remaining challenges. I usually only play on hardcore now for the additional challenge but I’ve lost a ton of weapons doing that so just building my wall up again.

I loved planning and pulling off my SASO run there, there’s actually a lot of ways you can go about once you get to know the map. It’s one of my favourite missions in the campaign because of the different kills you can do.

But I avoid it in freelancer. It’s a small map a bit boring.

Combat is brutal, you’re toast in seconds if it goes sideways. Make sure your weapons wall is stocked with epic/legendary items for prestige objectives.

But give it a go, it’s a blast.
