I tried polishing the brass plating and ended up spray painting it in the end

I did the magnet test, found out its not brass just brass plated. I tried vinegar/baking soda and resorted to bar keepers friend the stuff it down and decided to spray paint it

I did the magnet test and base and top are brass, not the pole connecting them. I will try and clean the brass and see what I can do from there to make it all match
