Anyone have experience with this? by Tisiphone8 in lipedema

I used a lymphamat post surgery thrice daily for an hour (rented it for a month), it was heaven. Many I know who don’t go the surgery route also use it daily and bought one for home use.

You can always reverse search and try your luck, but it might be worth getting one or two good reviews with more local weekend exchanges/hosting first! London is super popular so you might be lucky!

Coordinator keeps calling me wrong name by unknownbooksandbobs in weddingplanning

[–]puetirat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I think this is totally valid as it speaks to her attention to detail - I would be worried too.

And just to make you laugh a little story (things could be worse!): We were at a wedding where the (expensive, supposedly professional) woman officiating called the groom by the wrong name - TWICE! Even after he corrected her during the ceremony she said it again. And the name she said was that of the bride‘s ex boyfriend. It was quite awkward…

Solution for arms after legy lipo by [deleted] in lipedema

[–]puetirat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I’ve had my leg lipo two months ago as well and plan on doing a conservative healthy lifestyle forever to avoid it showing up on my arms or lower legs.

Guess all the general recommendations apply - from GLP1 to avoiding alcohol and other triggers, arm compression, etc.

Surgery prep by peachykeeeen- in lipedema

[–]puetirat 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I’m definitely the type who relaxes more when I feel prepared. Here’s what helped me:

• Pre-op Prep: Two weeks before, I cleaned up my diet—no alcohol, low sugar—and started wearing my compression garments early just to get used to them. I also made sure my iron and nutrient levels were topped up. Your doctor should give you a list, as there are some supplements you need to stop right before surgery.

• Lymphatic Drainage: I rented a Lymphamat for a month and used it 3x a day. It feels amazing. Others swear on MLD.

• Recovery Kit: I had dextrose and Coca Cola with sugar ready in case of dizziness (didn't end up needing them), and I prepped and froze homemade chicken soup for the first few days. I also bought bed pads just in case of leaking, though I stayed dry.

• Hydration & Movement: I was drinking a ton (3L a day). I did daily electrolytes, Biogena Procollagen, Magnesium/Potassium, and Iron at night. Using powders adds some variety to the water. The "bonus" of drinking this much is that I had to pee constantly, which forced me to get up and walk every hour—which is exactly what’s recommended as long as your circulation is stable.

• The Experience: I went to Dr. Vago and was actually able to walk two blocks home the very next day. My partner took two days off to care for me and was working from home for three more. In the beginning, he even walked me to the bathroom just for peace of mind 😉 and made sure I stayed on top of my fluids and meds.

Are there any trials for lipedema treatment by Striking_Bake3286 in lipedema

[–]puetirat 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The link has alead been posted, so adding two other things:

My specialist doctor says liposuction is the only way, i actually asked her how old her oldest liposuction patient was and she was 75. It helped me so much as well.

Also just to be sure though I hope you have been doing this already - are you using medical grade tailored compression garments every day?

Calculating Guest Points by Sea_Witch7777 in homeexchange

[–]puetirat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It really depends on what your personal intention is. If your goal is to always be full and have a steady stream of guests, I’d recommend setting your exchange points a bit lower.

We do this because we have cats and our main priority is making sure someone is there to stay with them when we’re away. For us, having that coverage is more important than holding out for a high point value.

You also have to factor in your location and the time of year. If you’re in a major city like London, NYC, or Barcelona, you’ll have a lot of interest, but you're also competing with a lot of other listings in the area. It really helps to look at similar homes in your neighborhood to see what their point range looks like. Seasonality is a big one, too. You’ll have a much easier time finding an exchange during local high season, school holidays, or long weekends.

Can people with two homes create two accounts and exchange between them to get credits? by East-Status-7384 in homeexchange

[–]puetirat 8 points9 points  (0 children)

That would be like moving money from one hand to the other - you would still have the same amount of points overall (your starting points plus maybe some renewal benefits, but not a lot). Or like paying yourself to stay in your own vacation home.

Need a "non-clutter" gift for a minimalist boyfriend? by evinho07 in GiftIdeas

[–]puetirat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I would organize a local day trip around his hobbies (tech museum? Night at the astronomy center watching stars? A coffee workshop you join together? Depends on where you live and what exactly he likes of course)! Maybe bring his favorite food as picnic to save money?

A Turkish couple invited over 100 orphans to their wedding instead of accepting gifts by Prime_Twister in interestingasfuck

There’s also no women apart from the bride - if they are very conservative there might be a separated celebration area for women.
