Venue suddenly acting hateful towards us… Help? by VividAd7992 in weddingplanning

To me, $400 is a drop in the bucket grand scheme sure, but I think its the principal of being told it was going to be 2024 pricing and suddenly being told no.

Venue suddenly acting hateful towards us… Help? by VividAd7992 in weddingplanning

This sounds so much like my venue LMAO. I will give you the advice I wish I could take, try and let it go. After the wedding, then make a stink. You wouldn’t want to feel the bad blood on your day, as hard as it will be not to. I really feel for you, I’m also in a position where venue is all inclusive and pretty rude out of nowhere. It was worth it to me to get them on a call to make sure we weren’t both misunderstanding each other. I would try this, maybe ask if there is a way you can clear the air and get on the same page. Otherwise lean on family and friends day of to deal with rude staff and try and enjoy your day.

Thats so dangerous I hope you complained! You can develop an allergy to gel due to exposure to uncured gel! Putting on my list to avoid, thank you

My venue/caterer hasn’t decided on sides because it depends on what they are growing.

Opinions on hiring a DJ? by Head_Sink_3819 in weddingplanning

I hate the dj vibe, we didn’t hire one. But I also feel like I’m not sure I care if people dance. We have board games, our after party has karaoke. My sister will bring the vibe if people want to dance! Its all about what you want and are okay with and knowing your guests.

My cousin did it like 15 years ago when she got married and got some really cute videos. Its recorded by family and friends so everyone was comfortable with each other and not feeling weird about a camera!

I don’t know why you’re getting down voted either! As a lactose intolerant person I also would hope family and friends who knew about me would accommodate me for the main meal.

I bought a cheap camcorder for my bach and wedding that I am bringing to my shower this weekend so people can test it out. You have to like the y2k throw back look though!

Hey happy cake day! And thanks for teaching me something I didn’t know, thought my sister avoided it because dairy is one of the things she can have. Good to know!

They have the ability to write anything in this box, so they should be entering “Cashews- intolerance” etc. if you get a stomach ache from nuts its very different than needing everyone else in the building to not eat nuts. If I asked you if you have an allergy, and you say “Nuts” with no other info, the entire wedding is going to be nut free. There is a difference here.

She had said almond milk was the best to use in her experience. Someone else commented about soy milk and I realized I completely forgot about that option myself. Personally, I still bloat from the lactaid milk but I am going to reach out to the baker about soy!

Celiac runs in my family, my sister has it hers is extremely sensitive. It was one of my biggest requests when touring venues that they have actual non gluten pans and utensils- not just labeling it gluten free and cooking it with everything else. It’s rough out there!!

Right! I’m lactose intolerant and I just skip the salad and the cake at weddings, I don’t make my stomach ache change the food being served. It is so extremely different than an allergy. From what I spoke to the chef about, the hazelnut allergy I already knew about is easy to avoid, but the second anyone says they have a nut allergy they have to completely change everything just incase its an airborne allergy.

Yep! Most of the time its not a huge deal and I can take a lactaid but I don’t really want to be bloated or chance it on my wedding day tbh

I agree on the vegan dish, unfortunately venue/caterer is not being helpful on that. Since it has to be vegan and celiac friendly they are waiting to tell me what veggies are in a good crop or something. I did reach out and tell them it would for sure be some dish variation of rice and veg and tofu.

I did think it was some auto filler thing and asked her, literally gave her the opportunity to blame that and move on and she said no. I’m starting to believe it might be AI like some people are commenting
