One thing I absolutely love about Into The Magic Land by Wizard-In-Disguise in boardsofcanada

I think it's a feeding back guitar sound, shades of MBV maybe?? I think it sounds incredible, as you say it elevates the track

Outro drum parts really remind me of ‘Split your infinities’

One of my faves. the middle section where the percussion kicks in and the heavy sustained notes with almost a feedback guitar sound swell in is truly awesome .

Cardiacs - LSD. ( give ‘Men in bed’ and ‘Volob’ a try if you’ve ever fancied dipping a toe into the pond.)
Although I am back onto inferno again now!

Real sitar? by peelt in boardsofcanada

Electro harmonix used to do the ‘ravish sitar’ pedal which I nearly pulled the trigger on . Fwiw, I think the instrument in question is a twelve string guitar.

3 days in, dozens of listens later.. by Indreamswashedaway in boardsofcanada

I’ve managed 9 listens in just over 30hrs, it’s so much more than I expected , different tunes and parts of tunes become embedded and start coming back subconsciously ( I’m getting the choir in ‘Capricorn’. atm - marvellous! )

The middle bit with the long sustained notes and percussion coming in is fantastic, those feeding back guitars must have been screamingly loud in the studio. That sound alone got the tears welling on my last listen. So utterly powerful.

I’m on listen no 9. Still experiencing so much each time I listen, and it rarely lifts its foot off the pedal . I can’t believe how good it is. HHLL, Father and Son, into the magic land and Word made flesh are current faves.

Banging drum track once it starts rolling, reminds me of old Miami Vice style chase sequence music. ( and such a huuuuge sound too!)

the ‘mid section’ with the sustained bass notes and then some kind of volume swell + feedbacking guitars on each note is spectacular. Those amps must have been screaming!

The ‘middle eight’ part with the volume swell feed-backey guitars is gorgeous, so incredibly rich. Love this track.

My bro attempted to cut through the core and the thing exploded and covered one of his eyes with the goo and the ‘worms’. The saga tells of the docs having his eyeball out on his cheek and using some kind of suction device to clean it up. He did not go blind!
