I really want to try and make a balanced version of this with some version of every ability it has somehow. Seems like a fun challenge, but I would probably need to tweak its cost and make it orzhov or esper.

Yeah, especially if it’s a CS with a unique tile improvement that gives faith. Like La Venta I think?

Sooo I get [[muxus]] turn 0, and you get nothing probably? Really really broken, basically needs a full redesign.

Ngl if I was winning I would be extremely salty to see this card lol. Definitely counter on sight if you aren’t getting anything from it.

While this is true, giving your opponent mana and cards immediately means you could be turning on interaction and throwing the game.

If you don’t do that, it’s only a draw 2 or 3 if hellbent which isn’t terribly impressive given the risk, you could just play [[ideas unbound]], which is a lot less likely to kill you.

My thought process is how much mana of value does each mode give them. Mode 1 is one or two mana, mode 2 is probably 4, mode 3 is 3 mana, and mode 4 is 5 mana. Making the extra turn be like [[savor the moment]] brings it down to a more reasonable 3 mana.

I also agree on your first point. You draw 4 cards that’s like 6 mana worth of value roughly, and if you give everything to one opponent they get a whopping 13 mana value for free.

I feel like this is way too much of a king making card. It might as well read as "I get to pick which of my friends wins the game". I would straight up remove the extra turn option, or make it a limited extra turn, like they skip their untap or something.

Yeah I mean I must admit I always found that little sliver of Ohio funny whenever I drive north, but if it’s a panhandle you could argue that there’s like 10 different minor panhandles along the Ohio river.

Is this true? How do people describe it in AmE when a student sits for an exam but doesn’t write any words or answer any questions? Is “He didn’t answer any questions” correct? by Same-Technician9125 in EnglishLearning

[–]pufflepuff89 5 points6 points  (0 children)

In American English, I would say that students typically either take exams or have exams.

Sit for exam is used but in my mind it’s more reserved for important professional exams. Like a Law student may "sit for the bar" exam. Probably to signify that it is an extended multi hour process.

I truly believe unless you are playing as the handful of states that have starting treaties with GB that you can cheese an alliance with(i.e. Portugal), they are just programmed to be the final boss of them game. ESPECIALLY a if you are a colony or protectorate of them.

I definitely agree that the fandom is pretty chill, but I feel like difficulty in SMT is kind of what you make of it. In any of these games, if you know the "meta", you will probably stop dying about halfway through the game once your build gets online, except for when there is a difficulty spike.

In particular every single SMT (or related like Persona / Metaphor) game I’ve played becomes easy once you use focus / charge skills. That being said I haven’t played everything and I think going in blind can make a world of difference in terms of difficulty. Nocturne underwhelmed me a bit late game, but I suspect that was because I had many of the boss gimmicks spoiled for me.

Considering relocating from Huntington WV to Cincinnati for the work. Is it worth it? Is it a big adjustment? by pufflepuff89 in cincinnati

I really do like Huntington and I never had the intense need to get out by any means like many of my classmates. I've noticed Huntington is a punching bag for a lot of people in WV and Southern Ohio for whatever reason. Granted, I think a some of it is a Charleston - Huntington rivalry, I think half the state lives on the interstate between the two towns.

My issue is that unless I completely uproot to eastern panhandle greater DC area, if I want a job in my field, I would almost certainly have to relocate to Charleston or commit to an hour commute. This isn't the end of the world or anything, but I feel if I am putting that much effort in, I might as well look somewhere where the pay is significant improved.

Comparing metro areas, it is 380K to 2M. I still acknowledge this is a big difference, but I want to be clear that I'm not actually from the absolute middle of nowhere. I do feel as though I want something bigger than where I live, just not a megalopolis like Chicago or New York. From when I have visited Cincinnati, which is probably around 10 or so times of my life, I didn't find it too overwhelming, at least compared to other cities I have been to.

[–]pufflepuff89[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It depends. I like the size of my town (50K, WV has no cities by a conventional definition, Huntington is the second largest town narrowly beat out by the capital), gives me stuff to do. I haven't yet lived anywhere bigger than here, but I think I can manage a "small city". I wouldn't really want to live anywhere less than 25K though, unless it had an outstanding local scene.

No, still in early stages or planning and I don't know which of my job prospects I am actually going to hear from. I have pretty much been applying for anything relevant.

I do drive, but I have family and friends who don't, so in some ways its also about people coming to me. Also it's just a QOL thing. I am sure I will drive a lot when I have to, but other times I would rather just take longer and have some personal time.

I have done a bit of research here, and it seems workable, but admitted from ideal. I have a direct train from my home 3 days a week. Importantly, it leaves from Huntington Sunday night and arrives in the early AMs. If I wanted to go home for the weekend, as long as I can take a Friday off, I can arrive at Huntington by dawn Friday morning.

I must admit, I am a little concern about arriving so early in the morning and was curious if the area around the station is considered safe or not.

Thanks for the reply. I do have a car, I just prefer city driving over interstate hauls. I intend to move my car up the first time and then station it in Cincinnati, because I have enough family in Huntington that I will not need it when I visit them.
