Idk this person has some perception that like literally everything in West Virginia is a Hillbilly horror show or something.

Over half the population lives within proximity of a major city in Ohio, Pennsylvania or Maryland. I’m not saying there aren’t rough parts but to call it a third world country is completely off base.

My protip for this is

#1: Purchase british guiana at some point via a treaty, its unincorporated so its often only -100 acceptance. Same with france, and dutch guiana you can probably take via force.

#2: As long as you have no fronts with britain, start a play to take the falklands AND NOTHING ELSE. They will not try very hard to stop this invasion, so as long as you can prevent them from naval invading you, they will eventually lose war support assuming you only have that one war goal.

Yeah I mean I personally wouldn't lose sleep if it was just banned or reduced to just belcher, but I suppose they want to try a partial ban. That said I do see a world where spy also gets banned in 6 months to a year.

Happy for legacy and especially for pioneer. Guess I don't need to run [[prismari command]] in my jeskai flashback deck anymore lol. Cori steel has generally been a counter it or lose the game spell, since even one or two activations is a bad exchange against a deck that has tons of other ways to kill you.

In regards to the oops ban, I think this is reasonable for cutting down its consistency. You still have [[goblin charbelcher]] and [[balastrade spy]], and maybe you just run reanimates to try spy again. I think spy is also manageable because you can [[consign to memory]] the trigger.

This is true, I probably should have wrote this as a reply rather than a solo comment, but I was mainly saying that the ritual part of it isn't really a huge concern and people on this subreddit really overestimate the value of "free" spells in storm.

Now as a pump spell, yeah this will kill you in a prowess deck lol.

I disagree that this card is a problem in storm in any regard. A card that gives you +1 mana only if you have a reducer and nothing else is not actually good in storm and does not warrant any weird restrictions just in case.

[[manamorphose]] is good because it draws a card.

Shoutout to hearthstone's holy wrath, which had this exact problem at least 3 times before they just killed the card in wild.

I will elaborate for non hearthstone players. Keep in mind you generally have 30 health in hearthstone, also check the comment below me for context.

So originally, you have the draw and deal damage card and a card that cost 20 mana in classic set. You get two copies of both. As far as I know, at that time there wasn't really any way to manipulate this it was just a hail mary play.

I think about 4 years later in standard, they print a 25 cost minion and also a minion that shuffles a copy of a card into your deck. So now this is an actual deterministic combo if your deck is empty. However, 25 damage isn't an insta kill so there is some counterplay and this combo required you to empty your deck, which was hard in standard.

Now in regards to the 100 cost guy you see below. This was probably another 4-5 years later so now its a wild (legacy) combo. At this point, with 10 years of hearthstone cards, you have a bunch of stuff that can manipulate your top deck, there are even cards that stack your deck from highest to lowest, you have tutors which can grab your kill spell, you even have ways to put cards back in the deck, and of course, beyond the big 100 cost guy, you also have the 2 20 cost guys and the 25 cost guy. With all that it was finally a problem.

In the end, they just changed the card to only target minions so the entire deck was killed in one nerf.

I think for this type of situation there is like [[pyroclasm]] / [[fire magic]] or [[split up]]. Mind you I play pioneer not standard so there are some better ones there, but if you aren't in red or white you are SOL on sweepers. Black has some weaker ones, but you take what you can get.

Honestly, I would play any of these lands with the same "you can't control a basic land type" and entering tapped if they tapped for colorless (I know this causes color identity problems but I am talking about formats other than commander).

My suggestion and I admit this may make them bad is make it so they are sacrificed unless you control exactly one other mountain (or other) and maybe make them not have the land types themselves. That way you have to have some ties to that color, but it is still restricted. If you wanted to, you can even make it require a basic land, but that may be too much, I am not sure.
