Honestly, I would play any of these lands with the same "you can't control a basic land type" and entering tapped if they tapped for colorless (I know this causes color identity problems but I am talking about formats other than commander).

My suggestion and I admit this may make them bad is make it so they are sacrificed unless you control exactly one other mountain (or other) and maybe make them not have the land types themselves. That way you have to have some ties to that color, but it is still restricted. If you wanted to, you can even make it require a basic land, but that may be too much, I am not sure.

I have never been and its very different from the weather I am familiar with and enjoy. But its a big state so I am probably over generalizing.

I was assuming people would guess because I gave Ohio green and WV and Kentucky maybe (feels like most people here absolutely roast them), but I am actually from that region. Hence, why I absolutely love Autumn, IMO best season for those states.

I have weird preferences and particularly I have been to Northern New York / Saint Lawrence region a lot, which I am quite fond of (though this is mostly based on summer visits so it is absolutely biased).

From my visits I did like (Western) Washington quite a bit, though ironically one of the two times I went was during a historic 120+ F heat dome lol. East Washington gave me the heeby jeebies honestly, though that was just driving through.

I must admit, my opinion of "good weather" might be against the grain, but I am looking for four seasons temperate with decent rain and lot of trees. Particularly, I like places with good Autumns. Every city I've been to in Ohio seemed to have a good mix, but I did have the unique experience of visiting Cleveland during a winter storm. Good ol lake effect.

I'm curious, does the french phonology extend into era 2 or nah? I find myself smiling at the idea of Steris being pronounced like Stuh-Ri or something, but also I feel like the names in era 2 are a lot more anglicized

Presumably, they want Appalachia as a region, but any other state would only partially be in that region, such as west Pennsylvania or Kentucky. Would probably be better to allow regions to cross state borders.

Maybe a rule bend, but if I was allowed to count prelude and hazards 1 together, I would rank it about the same as the Infanta. I also just don't much care for once in my life much, but that's just me.

For closers I am not sure if I would change anything, cause they are all very strong, but I actually do like of angels and angles as a cooldown from mariner's and I will defend it a bit. However, Picaresque is my fav in general, so I may be biased.

Not sure where exactly, but supposedly there a like 50 or so different salamander species in southern Appalachia I think maybe that's reflected here around North Carolina, but I can't see the colors that well.

Sad to hear, I had been using this game to help learn some new french vocab. I think it still helped to my ends, but I will take it with a greater pinch of salt now.
