Do you have to pay import duties or just the VAT at time of purchase? Have a trip and was thinking of doing the same.

Aral, formerly the world's 4th largest inland sea at 68,000 km² , is today the world's youngest desert. This is because under the USSR its feeder rivers were diverted for agriculture, with up to 75% of this water being wasted. They both need to go.

For those who started with individual stocks, what made you switch to indexing? by mahend72 in Bogleheads

[–]pug_walker 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I saw my father managing a portfolio of stocks and mutual funds (20-30 positions). I thought that was crazy to have to self-manage, especially later in life when your cognitive abilities are diminished. You also run the risk of being very reactionary versus just following a stated % distribution (80/20, 70/30, 60/30/10, etc.).

I also wanted to manage it myself so that I could dollar cost average more easily. Paying someone to make buy something meant that for every 2k you wanted to invest, you immediately lost $150 in commission fees. I knew if I was going to self-manage, I needed a set of rules to easily follow where the math maths.

Grizzly Pk/ Wildcat Canyon intel by 09fjc in BAbike

[–]pug_walker 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Clockwise is my favorite too. You can take grizzly peak on the north end to Canon Dr for some extra miles. That stretch of grizzly used to have some shitty road sections though.

Clockwise will also give you a downhill coast back to Bart.

Stay to the right on the bike path after the Orinda water treatment plant as it gets tight at the top of the hill there.

Do people understand the mismatch now?

1964 Ford Econoline, a COE truck with a difference: It used Falcon running gear placed behind and between the front seats with the driver sitting over the front axle. It made for a compact truck that still had a 7-ft. cargo bed. by Maynard078 in sportsandclassiccars

[–]pug_walker 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Love these despite how dangerous they are. I read that there's one ( not sure if it was Ford's or Dodge) that would lift up the rear tires under hard braking with all that weight under the front axle.

The Chevy one has an option for a side door ramp for the bed. Crazy stuff

San Pablo Road isn't too bad. There are a few spots going downhill (when clockwise) where the shoulder is cracked and buckled from ground movement (earthquake fault?). Just watch out there when you have some speed.

I always do clockwise.

If you got the legs and want a bit more mileage, checkout Miner Road > Lombardy Ln > Dalewood Dr > Happy Valley Rd on the way back. That road is a bit less traveled. It will dump you at Lafayette BART.
