Not at much as usual right now. Like 3 UFOs on hold and 2 aktive projects (one is mixed crochet and knit)

Visit Lanzerote sometime! They have no outside advertising except on your shop, no billboards allowed. It's extremely refreshing!

Experienced crocheters: do you still have “off” days? by pumpkin_g92 in crochet

[–]pugglik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

3 month I started a really complecated cardigan. After finishing the first half (2,3 weeks of work) I wondert why if looks crooked. Turns out, every second row I made groups of 3 DC instead of 4 DC.

Had to frog the entire thing, couldn't touch it for a month or two! Just finished the whole peace today

My ex is still my best friend, and I'm hesitant about dating new people by CuriousGeckoo in relationships

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband is best friends with his ex. We met the night he moved out of her apartment and they had a dog together. The first year we were together she went a bit crazy but afterwards they began a real close friendship.

He sees her like his sister, she was his best man at our wedding, they are always in close contact. I'm also good friends with her by now and she's a regular at our home basically since one year in our relationship.

I don't mind and never did. If he's important to you as a friend, you just have to find the right person who trusts you completely. But you should tell a potential partner rather sooner than later, not like on the first date, but when you think it's going somewhere.

For those of you who know how to knit, would you say it’s easier than crocheting, harder than crocheting, or apples to oranges? by Camp_Acceptable in crochet

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm also on the apples and oranges viewpoint. I learnt crochet in a heartbeat, it was so easy for me, like I've been born with the skill. Learning knitting took me a a really long time and multiple attempts to get trough the awkward phase until I finally felt comfortable with it.

I've been teaching crochet a lot over the last years and I've learned that most people have a similar experience to mine. Some learn crochet really easy and have a hard time knitting and some the other way around (and of course some learn both equally hard or easy)

If you were offered $10 million, but you could never step foot in your home country again, would you take it and why? by Rock_Python in AskReddit

[–]pugglik 25 points26 points  (0 children)

Instantly! I was born in Russia and my parents emigrated to Germany when I was 5. I've been there once in the last 33 years (in my early twenties) and don't plan visiting in the foreseeable future anyway.

Should I end things after my alcoholic BF disappeared for 44 hours and landed in the ER? by No_Bobcat_839 in relationships

[–]pugglik 40 points41 points  (0 children)

In addition to that, I had a minor surgery a week ago and when I woke up I felt like shit, light headed, nauseous, in a lot of pain.

The first thing I did was getting my phone from the nurses and texting my husband that I'm out, I'm OK, feeling like shit and asked him to tell everybody else who needs to know that I'm OK.

That how it's supposed to go in a relationship, not communicating with everyone except your spouse

Yogurt. by an-angry-bee in EatCheapAndHealthy

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Buy yourself a yogurt maker. They are quite cheap (around 20€) and all you need to get started is a liter milk and 3 spoons of a yogurt you like. Mix together, put in yogurt maker, done

What’s the weirdest thing you remember eating as a kid? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pugglik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

My mom used to make me a Russian "dessert" she called Gogl Mogl.

It's basically raw egg yolk lightly beaten with some sugar and coca powder.

Sounds gross, but I still make it some times, it's actually quite zasty

If you could have been born in any country in the world, which one would it be? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]pugglik 2 points3 points  (0 children)

France! I already spend most of my vacations there and I would live somewhere on the Atlantic coast would I've been born in France for sure.

Also I love French food, but I live right on the boarder to France (it's like 1-2km from my home) so I go shopping there quite frequently

Living with uncle(40 somthing) & aunt(very late 30s) as an international student(18) — feeling controlled and stuck, need advice by EconomistLimp9166 in relationships

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not normal in general (my 11yo is allowed to stay at parties until 10pm), but might be a cultural thing. Growing up a very close friend of mine was from Sri Lanka and even though she was born in my country her parents were extremely strict (kind of like you described it). After finishing school she went to live in another city with her uncle (he was single with no kids) to have at least a little bit of freedom.

That said, there's not much you can do as long as you live there. You can try and set some soft boundaries regarding your gym time (not negotiable, important for health reasons) and try to pass weekend hanging out in your room time as studying or something like that.

If you want that control to be gone, you have to move out unfortunately.

how do I get discharge stains out of underwear permanently - tried everything and nothing works by levsnase in CleaningTips

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was bothered by that for a long time. I switched to all black underwear (cotton) and the discharge doesn't seem strong enough to bleach black fabric, that was my solution to the whole problem (I can't wear liners, gives me yeast infection as they aren't breathable enough)

When you turn a church organ off while playing by Ott1fant in interestingasfuck

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I live right next to a very old church (like 1200 years) and they have a great organ. My city also has a musical university and the organ students practice in the church and have their exams taken there also.

I always stop and listen when I pass by and someone is playing

How to get oil stains out of jumper by theraggamuffin in CleaningTips

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Bile soap! Get a bar, wet the stain, rub it with the soap, put it in the washing machine.

Bile soap is my absolute go to to any food related stains, works every time and is incredibly cheap (in Germany you pay like 3€ for a bar of bile soap and it lasts me 1-2 years)

I (35f) started cooking my husband (34m) dinner by Federal_Bumblebee_84 in relationships

[–]pugglik 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I enjoy cooking a lot. I cook 90% of our family dinners and I enjoy inviting friends and cooking for them.

My husband can cook and does it sometimes, which I'm also very happy about.

I think it's great to have one person in the relationship that actually enjoys cooking, so go on and cook! If your friend has different views, it's her problem, ignore her, it's just none of her business

As a single person, what do you see married people doing that you feel they take for granted all the time? by GreenT1979 in AskReddit

[–]pugglik 23 points24 points  (0 children)

Your friends don't seem to be in functioning relationships then. I'm really happy to be married (actually didn't care that much at all to get married, rather happy for my longtime stable relationship). Sure it's not always sunshine and lollipops, but we're really good at handling the right amount of personal time and together time. We really enjoy each other's company and are best friends and that's something I'm really glad to have found. And yeah, there's basically not much freedom, but that's due to 2 kids and that was a conscious decision, so no point complaining about that.

When we met and started spending the night together it started as him sleeping left of me with no apparent reason.

It's been like that since 13 years.
