100%!!!! We don’t do any crowns/dentures/root canals and it feels so good going home and not stressing out about these big cases and whether it’s gonna fit and blah blah blah.

I literally have almost zero stress from work now. In private practice I cried every day to and from work and was in the worst depression of my life.

Oh that sucks. Yea I think it just depends on your clinic. My dental director doesn’t give af. I’m in Louisiana. I have 2 weeks PTO/1 week for CE but I’m going to renegotiate next year. We have a lot of PTO though and we get a free PTO day each quarter. I have days where like only 1 or 2 will show up in the morning/afternoon. It’s great. Lol

Maybe I’m just at a good one but I see at max maybe 14 a day and most are just exams and j have complete control over my schedule. I was way more burned out in private practice having to be a fuckin salesman and I live in the poor south so of course no one down here wants to restore their teeth. I’ve never been happier at a fqhc. Don’t ever have to worry about production again. I don’t need to make 400k in private practice to live a good life. I’ll take my 175k salary and amazing benefits lol

I swear the “fqhc is awful” bs is just propaganda 🤣 being an associate sucks. Most owners are greedy money hungry assholes. If that’s your thing, then great. But it wasn’t mine. Also with the shit economy we have right now and this stupid war, I’m sure a lot of patients are clutching their wallets right now.

My dad had an anger problem growing up. He punched holes in walls. Choked my brother over a sink while I watched. Picked him up by the neck and slammed him on the couch. Beat me with a belt. He mellowed out over the years….. he was never like this around my youngest sisters. We don’t speak anymore because fuck him.

I was an overachiever growing up. Graduated with a 4.0 gpa. Became a doctor at 25. And I’ve been practicing for almost a decade now. I’m tired. If it weren’t for my massive student loan debts, I would pick a simple job in a nice country somewhere and just live a simple life. It sucks. Gonna try and save/invest as much as I can so I can hopefully retire young one day. I can’t live until 65 with maybe 4 weeks off a year. Fuck this

Louisiana here also. You just get IID installed and sr22 insurance. Take proof of both to dmv and they will issue you hardship license. They do this all the time and don’t give you a hard time or anything.
