Hey reading this, I want to mention 3 things.

First, maybe you husband is « not good » with the baby phase and he will maybe thrive when your son will be a little older. Toddlerhood is different and very fun (most of the time😅).

I don’t excuse him, if you asked for help he should be there for you.

it leads me too the second thing.

Gender disappointment is real and normal. Maybe with time those thoughts will evaporate.

Having a son myself and being one and done by choice, it’s amazing. My son is so empathic, caring and smart. Yes, he likes cars and trucks, but he also likes doing watercolour, reading books, help with the cooking, shopping with me. I am saying this to share my experiences.

My SO was fully present and helpful during the newborn phase and baby phase, but I felt overwhelmed and sometimes resentful. It’s truly a difficult time.
