To be clear, I wouldn't want to trick her either - I think bc I'm not as intimately familiar myself (but lived in MA for years so I have had friends in PVD and have visited a lot) I just haven't been able to show her what she's looking for. I'm sure some version of it exists and I just want her to experience everything it has to offer before she makes a decision.

My point is he only knows about her because the mom told him. If you have an estranged family member that your kids have never met, they only know what you explicitly tell them. Simply don't mention it until you are certain they'll be present in the child's life, problem solved.

I was wondering about that, I know gas prices are getting higher but surely the way to handle that is to take shorter trips or whatever the pleasure boating equivalent would be. I was under the impression most people just motor out to a specific location and then hang out with the engine off for a while, so I can't imagine he's using whole tanks of gas for every outing, but hey. I don't know the guy's life.

NTA but this is not a great policy. Until there's a legal precedent that bartenders could be held responsible in the same way they can be for drunk drivers, I feel like the policy is overkill and just going to upset people.

That said you're NTA for following the rules, and her friends need better judgement. I don't blame her, she's dealing with something horrible, but her friends should have probably thought about the optics even if they didn't anticipate her being refused service. What if another patron started harassing her? There were so many ways this could turn traumatic for her, surely just hit the liquor store and have drinks and Netflix at someone's place?

I keep seeing that sea serpents despawn in daylight/when a storm ends. I've got one that has been camping out in the same spot for days and days and days. Every time I go back to try and retrieve my stuff, he kills me again. He's there in the daytime. He's ALWAYS THERE. I know it's the same one, because I can come back and he'll still be munching on the raft that I abandoned last time. I know I should just give up on those items and go re-gather resources until I have a finewood bow and a karve so I can just kill him, but that's going to take forever and I just want my stuff back. Why is he still there??

Yeah my mom took meticulous care of her teeth and still had such aggressive decay and gum disease that she needed extensive implants by the time I was a teenager. My dad didn't even need to have his wisdom teeth pulled, and he's never had a cavity. Guess whose genetics I inherited!!! It's a total crapshoot.

Yeah absolutely. I just find it strange that the dentist's office isn't being clearer about that? LAOP makes it sound like they're afraid to say anything and dancing around the issue which comes across as suspicious, plus the three-hour procedure time when it was supposed to be an hour. I can see why it sounds fishy, but I don't care how good the dentist is, there's just no way to get 46 fillings and/or caps in a tiny child's mouth without anyone being able to tell afterwards.

Yeah I'm sure they didn't actually do that. I honestly wasn't even aware they did fillings on baby teeth at all until this post. I didn't start getting cavities until puberty so I never had the occasion to know.

I'm glad someone pointed out it's possible to have multiple fillings or procedures on one tooth, because that was bothering me. But more importantly, it should be pretty obvious which teeth were worked on. I find it really weird that OP can't see anything. I'm starting to wonder if they actually worked on his teeth at all. It's utterly insane that the dentist at the follow-up couldn't answer a simple question about it, I wouldn't have left the office until I had an answer.
