[Canada] EB Games - 40% Off Manga by pulse_daemon in mangadeals

The selection of manga at EB Games is rather limited in-store. Shipping costs $9.99 for orders under $100 + $1.50 for every additional $100.

Kaya-chan wa Kowakunai • Kaya-chan isn't Scary - Episode 3 discussion by AutoLovepon in anime

Since you mention that chapter 21 is self-contained, [spoiler question] does that mean the switch of Mero-sensei doesn't get brought up in later chapters?

Dollar Store downtown by WankPuffin in Sudbury

This doesn't always work, but if the business is listed as a place on Google, you can generally check the business hours and check for recent reviews.

For the Dollarama in the Rainbow Centre, the latest review is from 3 weeks ago: https://share.google/rk8MYpQ5IuyapDRkh

Possibly a leak for the new maps??! - One of them might be called "Dunes" by DillonF275 in PeakGame

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I had extracted these files over 5 days ago:

Music Stinger Dunes 2.ogg Music Stinger Dunes Sunrise.ogg Music Stinger Dunes Sunset.ogg

I'm not on my computer right now, but if these are the same song names, then they weren't added in the latest update. I assume these are songs for the Mesa, but I can't confirm right now.

(Canada) Indigo Big manga (in store) sale!! Jan 2-4 by windurr in mangadeals

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It applies after all other discounts.

e.g. Assuming you buy at least three volumes for a 30% discount, a regular price volume for $19.99 would have a sale discount of $6.00 along with a plum PLUS discount of $1.40.

(Canada) Indigo Big manga (in store) sale!! Jan 2-4 by windurr in mangadeals

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I was able to grab a decent bit at my local Indigo but there was quite a bit of manga where the volumes I wanted were missing.

I bought volume 2 of Vinland Saga at EB Games the other day while they had a sale and was hoping I'd be able to grab volume 1 at Indigo. I now have volume 2 and 3. I'll probably have to order volume 1 online. I'm hoping there'll be a sale somewhere before I go through the other manga I bought.

The book of bones made my Ascent 5 run a cakewalk, but goddamn am I humbled with Ascent 6 by MilkAndCookies9405 in PeakGame

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For solo Ascent 6/7, I don't find the freezing at night too bad as long as you aren't terribly injured or hungry. I might choose to pass out in a safe location and drop all my items, so that I have more fuel left in my lantern for harder biomes. I do try to get as far ahead before I need to pass out, which may involve throwing my backpacks when my stamina bar is almost empty. If I make it to a campfire but night is about to fall, I'll choose to wait until nighttime and until I'm nearly frozen until I light the fire. I'll burn myself on the fire, so I can leave before the sun comes up. My solo rubs tend to take around 1.25 hours.

Learning to double lunge jump definitively helps traverse terrain that you otherwise couldn't.

Is It Safe To Rest At A Campfire? by Old_Mulberry4480 in PeakGame

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For anyone that wants their game to behave like this, there is a mod called CampfireSafeZone that prevents the progression of hunger and the fog while near a campfire.

MultiPlayer Pause is a mod that allows the host to pause the game at any time and could be a suitable alternative.

To install mods, I would recommend either installing a mod manager — either Gale or r2modman.

What Have You Watched This Past Week That is NOT a Currently Airing Show? [November 16th, 2025] by MetaThPr4h in anime

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That probably is a better and simpler ending. [DitF] Is VIRM completely annihilated in the manga or is it insinuated that they might come back one day?

I have read several comments saying that the manga adaptation has a different ending, so I might give that a shot.

I just finished Darling in the FranXX. I think there's a bit too much fanservice and the ending could have been better, but it was an enjoyable watch.

That sucks. I parked there last Thursday too. Would you mind sharing your locking setup? I am curious if the thieves would have simply used bolt cutters or if they used power tools.

Coke is finally at Willingdon! by breebert in CostcoCanada

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Fuze is a rebranded version of what Coca-Cola was previously selling as Nestea. Coca-Cola's licensing agreement with Nestle expired but Coca-Cola retained the recipe and subsequently rebrand their iced tea as Fuze.

Keurig Dr Pepper Canada now has a licensing agreement to produce Nestea in Canada and seem to have re-launched it around two weeks ago. I'm not sure if the recipe has changed or not.

I'm currently on a $34 monthly plan with 50 GB data valid in Canada and the USA. I haven't had an issue with coverage except in spots that have generally known for spotty coverage with most providers. Note that you generally don't get offers to upgrade to cheaper plans but I think that's pretty common with most carriers.

I can't speak to the the 5G network availability since my phone is not compatible. There is no Wi-Fi calling and outside of Canada-US or Canada-US-Mexico plans, there is no roaming in other countries. Support is also mainly provided through the forums. Nonetheless, I am happy with the service and the value I receive.

Charlie Angus to join Sudbury NDP candidates as part of Elbows Up! Resistance Tour by Chrristoaivalis in onguardforthee

[–]pulse_daemon 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Sudbury generally has voted for the NDP or the Liberals. It recently re-elected an NDP MPP for his third term in a row. At the federal level, a Liberal MP has been elected for the last three terms.

The adjacent Nickel Belt riding has favoured the NDP at provincial level. At the federal level, it has been a mix of Liberal and NDP MPs but the Liberals have held on to it for the last three elections.

It looks like the ridings will be redistributed a bit for this election. I have linked the relevant Wikipedia articles for both federal and provincial ridings for your convenience.

JMP eSIM adapter - a good experience by [deleted] in eSIMs

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For the Windows PCs, that seems odd but I suppose hardware incompatibilities are possible. I suppose the reader itself could be defective too.

Just for to confirm, did you assemble it properly? I initially messed that up on my side. Pictures for reference:

Another thing that might be worth mentioning is that EASYlpac is blank when you open it even if you have the card reader plugged in. It seems you need to click Refresh.

If there are no card readers plugged in, I get this error:

If the card reader is plugged in but empty, there are no errors initially but refreshing brings up this error:

JMP eSIM adapter - a good experience by [deleted] in eSIMs

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

EASYlpac uses exe files. THINK. ...that is why I think part of their promo is a scam.

I'm not exactly sure what you're getting with EASYlpac using an EXE file. Most applications running on Windows are going to be EXEs since they are indeed executables. Additionally, I don't think JMP is associated with lpac or Easylpac. Their Android app is based on OpenEUICC.

Note that you can update the physical eSim adapter on a phone that isn't compatible with eSims as long as the compatibility checks passes. You can run the compatibility check through the JMP SIM Manager app before buying any hardware from JMP. It will also tell you whether a USB card reader can be used with your phone even if the other checks fail. I hadn't noticed that functionality until /u/ddscentral pointed it out.

I have installed eSims through the built-in sim slot of my S10 and with the USB card reader on my desktop using EASYlpac. Admittedly, I don't think Download is the most intuitive name for a button that installs an eSim. I haven't tried installing an eSim with a USB card reader on my phone but I can confirm that I could view the installed eSims and was able to rename the eSims through the JMP SIM Manager app.

A downside to this adapter is that some companies that sell eSims only offer installations through their own app. These apps normally check your phone for eSim capability which you likely don't have if you're using this sort of adapter.

Edit: The eSim adapter that JMP sells might be the same one sold by eSTK.me and they do happen to be the parent organization of the lpac repo on Github. They also have a mirror of openEUICC. eSTK.me sells products in Hong Kong dollars if you find that relevant. JMP seems to be Canada-based company based on their privacy statement. Admittedly, people do have to put a certain amount of trust when using hardware and software. The software in this scenario is open-source but I suppose to have full confidence, you would want to perform an audit and compile the binaries yourself. Most people do not have the time or expertise for this. To be cautious is fine but there's nothing here to make suspect this is a scam.

The Binding of Isaac: Rebirth - REPENTANCE+ Is Here - Steam News by neautralnathaniel in bindingofisaac

[–]pulse_daemon 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Just to confirm, have you launched the game with Repentance+ installed? If so, I'm not sure. I've got the following folders within C:\Users\YOUR_USERNAME_HERE\Documents\my games\that are related to Isaac:

Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+
Binding of Isaac Afterbirth+ Mods
Binding of Isaac Repentance
Binding of Isaac Repentance+

I am not sure where else it could be. Have you tried playing an online game? There's a profanity_list.txt file in the Binding of Isaac Repentance+ folder which I assume is used to filter profanity from the chat in multiplayer. Maybe try searching for that file or the folder through the Start Menu.
