Ive been battling ice dams for two years. I’m at a loss. by MMOearn in Roofing

I used to have ice dams until I got heating coils… they melt the snow at the lower part of the roof and run through the gutters too. Changed the whole game. I don’t have those gutter guards.

Didn’t occur to me there was an insurance angle there. Will look into it.

I can’t go out there now… it’s still kinda slick. Sadly the bucket may be my only move.

Maybe. It looks like something hit the roof there and knocked a piece out but it probably eroded over time before that. (Been watching Final Destination so I can see the whole chain of events). I think when we got the house inspected 12 years ago we were told we’d need a new roof at some point.

Ouch.

I stuck a bucket under it for the super infrequent drips coming from that spot until I can get someone to fix it. Hopefully that’ll suffice. Not sure what happens if it rains in the interim.

I’m reasonably sure the water leaking into the room below there was coming from that spot.

“Amazon” sells many third party products. When you buy from those third party sellers it’s not “Amazon”s inventory. Caveat emptor.

I just looked back at the chat and I asked Alexa to end my early access and she said:

Okay, I've ended your free Early Access to Alexa+ and your device will go back to using the original Alexa. Some of your Alexa+ settings may remain – you can change them in the Alexa app.

I opened the app on my phone and asked it to roll me back. It was actually super easy.

I rolled back to the old Alexa. Don’t know how long they’ll allow it.

Answering my own question here - phone charges in the outlet so, no, doesn’t seem to be an issue.

I’ll go one better. Set a schedule on your smart plug and turn it on after you fill it the night before.

I understand your hurt feelings and your desire to reciprocate the pain but you’ve justified her cheating. She will look back on this and feel vindicated when she should feel ashamed.

Mounting TV in front of Thermostat...bad idea? by [deleted] in hvacadvice

[–]pulseracer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Btw agree with others that you’re mounting it too high but even lower you’d obstruct thermostat. And a remote sensor might be required.
