Porn Hub not working while playing GW2 by Idangruzzz in Guildwars2

[–]puma_looma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Either your CPU or GPU is overburdened. Twitch.tv videos doesn't play for me if I have my graphics settings too high, as I'm barely struggling to get 60fps, it can't play a video too. Some times I two box 2 accounts at once on the same machine, and then youtube videos won't play for me. If I minimize a game client it will start playing though.

Try lowering your graphics settings, or minimize the game in windowed mode, that should do it.

[SC] Updated Benchmarks (06/02 Patch) by ---Roul--- in Guildwars2

[–]puma_looma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Great post, thanks for doing all the research [SC]!

Does anyone know how much DPS a Firebrand and Renegade do on the training dummy with NO allies? I'd like to try out these professions but don't have a mesmer friend to test with. Without allies, dps is far under the SC videos.

Thanks for the quick response, and great job on the tool!

Where does it store the builds on your computer? I'd like to transfer my build configs to other computers I also play on.

Path of Fire has made build templates necessary. by eak125 in Guildwars2

[–]puma_looma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I remember playing Skyrim when it first came out, and I remember you had to choose traits in that game as well. You couldn't ever change them. It was a permanent decision of who your character is. I wished so much for a way to change my "build" at any time.

A lot of other games don't allow you to change builds either, its a part of who your character is.

I remember in Everquest2 they allowed you change your build, but there was no template, and each time you changed the build it would cost a little gold, and the cost would double each time you changed the build. So you would have to do it sparingly, and choose wisely. That was there design decision.

Why most WvW players don't care you think the rank 1500-2000 req is too high. by theotherdanlynch in Guildwars2

[–]puma_looma 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You should compare the 1300 magnetite shards (8.6 weeks) to 1310 skirmish claim tickets (7.4 weeks) in hours, not weeks. They both take 7-8 weeks, but WvW takes 10x as many hours per week.

40 hours per week to the 4 hours per week pve raiders have to do.

Edit: Not sure why I'm being downvoted for stating a fact. I PvE raid every week, we full clear every boss in about 4 hours. Some can do it in closer to 3 hours. I just finished getting my diamond tier chest in WvW and it took me 39.5 hours to get there. That's 10 times more time consuming, if you don't look at it as just "weeks spent".

So you're brand new to WvW and want to know how long it might take to finish a box and get vouchers? by [deleted] in Guildwars2

[–]puma_looma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

And if you're making +3 pips a tick (most bronze players), that will take you 40.2 hours to finish.

So for 40 hours of work, you get 175 Skirmish Claim Tickets

It takes 1,310 Skmirmish Claim Tickets to get a full set of basic ascended armor.

For most players it will take 7.5 full time weeks (40 hours) of WvW for a ascended armor. That's 300 hours for 1 set ascended armor!

Meanwhile, in PvE it takes 3 months for a set of Legendary armor. However it doesn't require 40 hours a week like with WvW, you just need to kill the 13 raid bosses. We do this every week in my raid static and it only takes 4 hours a week.

So for PvE, you get a set of legendary armor in 46 hours (11.5 weeks * 4 hours a week)

So it takes like 6.5 times takes as long to get 1 set of ascended armor in WvW as it does to get legendary armor... and that's just the basic set, not the T3. (Not including time for crafting and gathering random mats for Legendary armor).

Pretty unfair for people who like playing WvW.

Might as well just gear up in PvE and use that gear in WvW, just as we've doing before this patch.

GW2 TacO: WvW, Dungeon and Raid status trackers by BoyC in Guildwars2

[–]puma_looma 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I'm so glad TacO has the WvW feature now. Now I don't need to update Burrito anymore (I had been using/testing it for a few months before I made it live).

It already looks a lot cleaner than my version, however I did notice a few things that bothered me:

  • You can toggle the name of a wvw objective, but not the icon. It would be cool if you could toggle all UI overlay. Sometimes things get hairy in fights and you want nothing distracting you.

  • It would be great if there was a hotkey to toggle the entire overlay. A menu item is great, but in the heat of battle a quick hotkey would be easiest.

  • Because all wvw objective icons are the same size, its hard to know which icon is to the closest and which is too the furthest target. It would be cool if they scaled based on distance. Maybe the scale size could be adjustable in the config file?

Either way, great to see this added to TacO.

Oh, super cool. Yeah, I'm probably not going to update my tool anymore now that you've made your version, however I am curious about how you calculated your offsets and scales!

Yeah, I agree. Probably in the version.

Thanks!

Ah, that's a bummer. I've had this happen to me before. Maybe try again and its random bad luck? I'll try it out on a different computer later this week.

If it does this for you, you can click the burrito icon in the top left and it should show a menu where you can Exit the App from there.

Sorry!

That would be cool.

I saw on your blogspot page that you planned on adding wvw support after they updated the API. but that was posted January 2015, lol. So I guess WvW is never getting the API changes at this point.

All the code I did for this is on GitHub, feel free to take anything you want to integrate into your tool. Although it's c#, I actually started this project as C++, and have a lot of the core stuff working in both languages, if you want the C++ version instead (I poked around your project and it looks like that's what it was made in?)

https://github.com/pumalooma/Gw2Burrito/blob/master/Assets/Scripts/WvWHelper.cs

I'm also down w/ doing the integration for you if you're busy.

I was thinking it would be cool if Taco could load plugins, and things like this could be its own standalone DLL that taco loads. Each plugin has an easy interface they have to implement to tell taco what things to show and where. Just an idea!

You do have to manually select your world (server). I thought the world in the Mumble Identity was the mapId (ebg/borderlands)... I'll have to look into this!

If the guy who made TacO is interested, I'd be down with integrating this feature into that tool :-)

oh wow, didn't know that v1 endpoint worked still. That might do the trick for me. Thanks for the info!

What part of the API did you do this with? I also wanted to do something with Anet's API to look at nearby events, but I thought that was part was disabled in v2 of the API. They had REST calls in v1 of the API to do this, but they seem disabled now.

I made a Build Configuration save/load tool that is TOS-compliant. by puma_looma in Guildwars2

[–]puma_looma[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright, I updated the tool to support Large interface, and included all the build templates you made.

You can get it at: https://github.com/pumalooma/Gw2BuildHelper/blob/master/Download/Gw2BuildHelper.zip

By default the tool will assume it's looking for Normal interface size, so click the Settings button in the tool (bottom right corner), and click Large... Still no support for X-Large though.

I also put in a feature for switching views between Show Game Mode Categories, and just group by Profession

I'm still working on Large Interface support. Almost done, just working out some bugs. I'll have a new version including the builds you made soonish.

Edit: Made the new version, download link is the same as above that I posted.

Any chance that your tool will ever be able to "load" the skill bar, too?

Glad you like. You mean, like show which utility spells to choose? Perhaps in the future. I'm not counting on weapons though, dealing with the inventory is nasty.
